Background: Hypertensive pregnancy disorders are associated with long-term adverse cardiac and vascular remodeling postindex pregnancy. The POP-HT trial (Physician Optimised Postpartum Hypertension Treatment) demonstrated that improved puerperal blood pressure control leads to reduced blood pressure and beneficial cardiac remodeling during the first year postpartum. This study describes the impact on postpartum vascular remodeling.

However, traditional markers of renal function normalize postpartum, making identification of those at future disease risk difficult. We studied whether the type and severity of hypertensive pregnancy associated with postpartum renal structure.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) affects approximately 14% of pregnancies globally, with rising incidence depending on the diagnostic criteria used. In the UK, screening relies on risk factors at booking, followed by a diagnosis via an oral glucose tolerance test in the second trimester. This approach may lack sensitivity and has poor tolerability.

Since its inception in the 1950s, echocardiographic research has progressed from small-scale, observational studies to large cohort investigations and randomised controlled trials. This evolution has paralleled advancements in disease diagnosis and facilitated the use of echocardiography as an important player in other disciplines such as cardio-oncology and interventional cardiology.

Methods And Results: A total of 13 819 patients from 32 UK hospitals, referred for stress echocardiography between 2015 and 2023, were analysed across two phases: phase 1 (2015-2020) and phase 2 (2020-2023). Follow-up data for 1 year was available for 4920 participants through NHS Digital.

Aims: Stress echocardiography is widely used to assess patients with chest pain. The clinical value of a positive or negative test result to inform on likely longer-term outcomes when applied in real-world practice across a healthcare system has not been previously reported.
Methods And Results: Five thousand five hundred and three patients recruited across 32 UK NHS hospitals between 2018 and 2022, participating in the EVAREST/BSE-NSTEP prospective cohort study, with data on medical outcomes up to 2023 available from NHS England were included in the analysis.
Background: Hypertensive pregnancy disorders are associated with adverse cardiac remodeling, which can fail to reverse in the postpartum period in some women. The Physician-Optimized Postpartum Hypertension Treatment trial demonstrated that improved blood pressure control while the cardiovascular system recovers postpartum associates with persistently reduced blood pressure. We now report the effect on cardiac remodeling.

EchoGo Pro provides an automated interpretation of SE based on artificial intelligence (AI) image analysis. In reader studies, use of EchoGo Pro when making clinical decisions improves diagnostic accuracy and confidence.
