Alkyl Chain-Tuned Fluorescent Sensors: Phenanthroimidazole Derivatives for Selective Detection of Nitroaromatic Compounds Containing Phenolic Group.

In this paper, a series of phenanthroimidazole derivatives 2-(1 H-indol-3-yl)-3a,11b-dihydro-1 H-phenanthro[9,10-d]imidazole(NZ1), 1-hexyl-2-(1 H-indol-3-yl)-3a,11b-dihydro-1 H-phnanthro[9,10-d] imidazole (NZ2) and 1-hexyl-2-(1-hexyl-1 H-indol-3-yl)-1 H-phenanthro[9,10-d] imidazole (NZ3) were synthesized for selective sensing of nitroaromatic compounds used in explosives. The structure was confirmed through nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, infrared and single crystal x-ray diffraction data. To ensure the molecules suitability for sensing application, several photophysical characterization were performed.

Fluorescence quenching aptitude of carbazole for the detection of nitro-aromatics: a comprehensive experimental analysis and computational studies validation.

Fluorescence quenching studies of carbazole with nitroaromatics were studied and compared with 2-phenyl-1-phenanthro[9,10-]imidazole (M1). Carbazole (CBz) can sense all nitroaromatics, in particular picric acid (PA), whereas M1 responds to the ones having acidic hydrogen. The complex formation constant ( ) and limit of detection (LOD) were measured using the Stern-Volmer plot.

This paper presents the synthesis process of a ligand known as 2-(naphthalene-1-yl)-1H-phenanthro[9,10-d]imidazole (NIP) and its metal complex with zinc (II), denoted as FA-128. The structural validation of FA-128 is accomplished through single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD). To explore the biological implications, FA-128's interaction with BSA is investigated.

Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of ()-2-{[(2-iodo-phen-yl)imino]-meth-yl}-6-methyl-phenol.

The title compound, CHINO, was synthesized by condensation of 2-hy-droxy-3-methyl-benzaldehyde and 2-iodo-aniline, and crystallizes in the ortho-rhom-bic space group 222. The 2-iodo-phenyl and benzene rings are twisted with respect to each other, making a dihedral angle of 31.38 (2)°.

Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of 2-{[(4-iodo-phen-yl)imino]-meth-yl}-4-nitro-phenol.

The title compound, CHINO, was synthesized by a condensation reaction between 2-hy-droxy-5-nitro-benzaldehyde and 4-iodo-aniline, and crystallizes in the ortho-rhom-bic space group 2. The 4-iodo-benzene ring is inclined to the phenol ring by a dihedral angle of 39.1 (2)°.

Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of 2-phenyl-1-phenanthro[9,10-]imidazol-3-ium benzoate.

In the title compound, CHN ·CHO , 2-phenyl-1-phenanthro[9,10-]imidazole and benzoic acid form an ion pair complex. The system is consolidated by hydrogen bonds along with π-π inter-actions and N-H⋯π inter-actions between the constituent units. For a better understanding of the crystal structure and inter-molecular inter-actions, a Hirshfeld surface analysis was performed.

The fabrication of highly ordered and visible-light-responsive Fe-C-N-codoped TiO2 nanotubes.

A one-step method for the fabrication of Fe-C-N-codoped TiO2 nanotubes by electrochemical anodization is reported. The proposed method is both simple and efficient. The prepared samples were annealed at 550 degrees C for 3 h.
