[Between gender and health technologies: an analysis of HPV and cervical cancer prevention campaigns from 2014 to 2020].

In this article an analysis of the preventive campaigns against cervical cancer (CC) and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination developed by the National Cancer Institute (INCA) of the Ministry of Health was conducted, in addition to some campaigns produced by non-governmental organizations and private institutions, from 2014 to 2020. From a socio-anthropological point of view, the objective was to understand how these health technologies trigger and produce gender representations. Seven categories of analysis were developed ("Generationality of care", "Schooling", "Childhood and Youth", "Gamification", "Health risk", "Men's health" and "Neutrality") that permitted discussion of the themes that emerged in graphic pieces.

Vulnerabilty and precariousness in a favela in Rio de Janeiro: noises, control and conventions of the Bolsa Família Program.

The article discusses how the Bolsa Família Program (PBF) is mobilized and gains different meanings in the practices and discourses of beneficiaries in a favela in Rio de Janeiro. The empirical material comes from fieldwork research in the Favela do Tripé (fictitious name), a precarious stretch of a larger favela which involved participant observation and interaction with the Program beneficiaries. From these women's speeches, we reflect on the relationship among the PBF and vulnerabilities, food, health, gender conventions, and the role and presence of the State in favela contexts.

[Health on the fringes: dilemmas of the territoriality of Primary Health Care for refugees in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil].

This article presents and analyzes the tensions, negotiations and arrangements that comprise the process of devising a care structure for the refugee population in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro within the scope of Primary Health Care (PHC). We are of the opinion that the creation of this care structure is derived from the intersection of more than one normative regime, namely that of health and that of the refuge location, which represent an organization and structure that is often conflicting. In this respect, we examine the intermediary agency work that the health operators perform with the government regulations they have at their disposal to combine the notions of territoriality that orient both PHC and the dimension experienced by the refugees.

Young men and abortion: the male perspective on unplanned pregnancies.

This is a social-anthropological study that situates abortion as an event inscribed within the broader framework of heterosexual sexuality, gender relationships, contraceptive and reproductive control. Its objective was to reveal the network of social relationships that engender negotiation and decision-making processes surrounding the interruption of unplanned pregnancies and the manners of carrying out abortions based on narratives on the affective-sexual, contraceptive and reproductive trajectories of women and men from different social classes and generations. The focus of this article is young men's position in the face of pregnancy and abortion.

[Abortion itineraries in a clandestine context in the city of Rio de Janeiro-Brazil].

From a series of in-depth interviews, we gathered a significant amount of ethnographic material on the concrete and symbolic paths taken by young women and their partners in the search for a solution to an unplanned pregnancy. Inequities in Brazilian society are expressed in itineraries/routes of different sinuosity, complexity and duration according to the individuals' social and material conditions of existence. Thus, for middle class youths access to abortion is very swift and secure, whereas for the rest of women the decision to abort consists of efforts on different levels to achieve the undertaking.
