Cutaneous Rosai-Dorfman disease (CRDD) is a rare non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis that mimics various granulomatous and neoplastic dermatoses, often leading to misdiagnosis. We report an 18-year-old male with a 13-year history of progressively enlarging erythematous plaques over the nasal bridge and right forearm, initially diagnosed as granulomatous inflammation. Histopathological examination revealed emperipolesis only after meticulous serial sectioning, and immunohistochemistry confirmed the diagnosis of CRDD.

Inflammatory linear verrucous epidermal nevus (ILVEN) is a variant of keratinocytic epidermal nevi. In contrast to noninflammatory epidermal naevi, ILVEN is less common, typically erythematous, and persistently pruritic. It usually appears at birth or in early childhood and follows a linear distribution along Blaschko's lines.

Bowenoid Papulosis (BP) is an uncommon, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) induced genital dysplasia, usually observed in younger, sexually active individuals. We report a case of a 37-year-old woman who presented with dark, itchy lesions over her external genitalia of 6 months duration. Clinical examination and histopathological evaluation confirmed the diagnosis of BP.

Acne vulgaris (AV) has a multifactorial pathogenesis, with inflammation being a key factor. The pro-inflammatory role of interleukin (IL)-19 has been explored in several systemic and some dermatological conditions. This study aimed to analyse serum levels of IL-19 in cases as well as healthy controls and to assess its correlation with the disease severity.

Granulomatous vulvitis (GV) is a rare chronic inflammatory condition presenting with persistent vulvar swelling and noncaseating granulomas, often mimicking Crohn's disease and sarcoidosis. We report a 21-year-old sexually inactive woman with a five-month history of painless vulvar swelling and occasional itching, complicated by secondary polymicrobial infection. A thorough evaluation excluded other granulomatous diseases, and histopathology revealed noncaseating granulomas, supporting the diagnosis of granulomatous vulvitis.

Article Synopsis
  • Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are serious skin reactions mainly triggered by drugs, and SCORTEN is used to predict their severity and mortality risk.
  • A recent study sought to determine if the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) could serve as a prognostic marker for SJS/TEN by analyzing patient data over four years from a hospital.
  • Although a weak positive correlation was found between NLR and SCORTEN, it wasn’t statistically significant, suggesting that while NLR indicates systemic inflammation, its effectiveness in predicting disease severity needs further research with more patients.

Antibiotics have constituted the mainstay of acne therapy despite acne being classified as an inflammatory disorder. The indiscriminate usage of antibiotics over the years has thus fueled the issue of antimicrobial resistance. Cutibacterium acnes (C.
