Objectives: We describe here characteristics and clinical outcomes of women living with HIV attending an HIV menopause service.
Methods: This was a retrospective case note review of women attending the monthly HIV menopause clinic from January 2015 to July 2018.
Results: In all, 55 women attended the service.
Background: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a complex treatment. Despite this, there are a lack of training programs designed to develop relevant clinical and nonclinical skills required for ECMO specialists. The aim of the current study was to describe the design, implementation and evaluation of a 1-day simulation course for delivering training in ECMO.

Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has now become an acceptable alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement for patients with severe aortic stenosis at high risk. The early enthusiasm for this technology has not diminished but rather has developed at an unprecedented rate over the last decade. Alongside the developments in implantation technique, transcatheter design, and postprocedural care, cardiac imaging modalities have also had to concurrently evolve to meet the perpetual demand for lower peri- and postprocedural complication rates.

Background: Without surgical correction, survival of patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis is poor. It is unknown whether patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) have a better prognosis than similar patients who are treated with medical management.
A 53-year-old man was admitted to our institute with chest pain and palpitation. Using contrast echocardiography, left ventriculography and cardiac MRI, a subsequent diagnosis of mid-ventricular hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy with an apical aneurysm was made. The current case highlights the benefits of multimodality imaging in not only achieving a diagnosis but also in comprehending the pathophysiological origins of this unusual phenomenon.
