Objective: Simulation can be an effective teaching strategy for developing psychomotor skills, especially for trainee doctors and nurses. In this article we give a detailed account on designing and assembling a model that can be used in training of securing an airway (this was initially used for training during the covid pandemic) and its various uses.

Materials And Methods: To impart the training of securing an emergency airway by a tracheostomy to the ENT trainees and surgeons, anaesthesiologist, intensivists and related health care workers, an inexpensive teaching and training model for tracheostomy was designed.

Secondary TEP insertion in a patient who has had laryngectomy with adjuvant radiotherapy is challenging as the neck mobility and neck extension is restricted. Following laryngectomy, as our patient was unable to develop esophageal speech a secondary TEP was planned for him. A simple and cost-effective method of secondary tracheo-esophageal puncture (TEP) for voice rehabilitation following laryngectomy can be performed using routine equipment and instruments available in almost all operating rooms.

Aim: To review the epidemiology, presentation, and outcomes of benign laryngeal nerve sheath tumors treated at our center.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the demographic data (age and sex), clinical profile, imaging, management, and follow-up of histopathologically confirmed benign solitary nerve sheath tumors of the larynx from January 2016 to August 2023.

Results: There were a total of 10 cases, 80% were schwannomas, and 20% were neurofibromas, all being sporadic with none associated with neurofibromatosis or schwannomatosis.

Objective: To study the prevalence of synchronous oesophageal cancer in patients with head and neck cancers using Narrow Band Imaging and Lugol's chromoendoscopy.

Materials And Methods: Study design: Prospective cross sectional diagnostic study. Method: 63 recruited patients with head and neck cancers, underwent haematologic evaluation, histological confirmation, imaging which included contrast enhanced computerised tomography(CECT) of the Neck and when indicated an additional Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI) scan followed by UGI endoscopy using white light followed by Narrow Band Imaging(NBI) and Lugol's chromoendoscopy(LCE).

To assess the utility of Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) as a diagnostic tool in evaluating laryngeal pathology in patients presenting with hoarseness. Study design: Prospective cross sectional diagnostic study. Methods: 200 patients with voice change were recruited and laryngeal findings documented with high definition flexible endoscopy with both white light and narrow band light and the representative still images recorded for analysis.

A renal transplant recipient with chronic hepatitis B underwent multiple laser excisions over 4 years for laryngeal keratosis. From the initial histopathology reports of mild to moderate dysplasia, a progression to squamous carcinoma was noted over 4 years. This case report highlights the possible role of immunosuppressants and hepatitis virus in the aetiopathogenesis of laryngeal carcinoma.

Objective: A prospective single blinded randomized control trial was conducted to study if early initiation of voice therapy after microlaryngeal produces a better voice outcome in patients with benign vocal fold lesions.

Methods: In this Patients undergoing microlaryngeal surgery for benign vocal fold lesions were recruited for the study and underwent voice evaluation and videostroboscopy preoperatively. Participants were randomised into two groups depending on the duration of voice rest-A (2 days voice rest) and B (5 days voice rest).

Background: The field of laryngology has grown exponentially since the advent of the transnasal flexible laryngoscopy. Flexible laryngoscopy when performed skillfully using the proper technique, facilitates a good view of the hidden areas of the larynx.

Objective: To compare the effectiveness of the topical agents in providing a more comfortable experience for the patient, allowing the practitioner to advance the endoscope with less friction, pain and discomfort for the patient using 10% lidocaine spray, 2% lidocaine gel, 4% lidocaine with xylometazoline (1:1) soaked pledgets, or aqueous gel.
