The interaction of -alkoxy-1-indole-1-carboxamides with transition metals leads to indole-fused heterocyclic scaffolds through directing group leaving/migration, [3 + 2], N-C2 [4 + 1], and [4 + 2] annulations. However, the corresponding O-C2 [4 + 2] annulation reactions have never been reported. Herein, we report the chemoselective annulation of -alkoxy-1-indole-1-carboxamides catalyzed by Rh(III), affording [1,3]oxazinoindolones through a hitherto unknown reaction pathway.

Coronal malalignment of the knee joint is very common in developing countries especially because of nutritional rickets. Significant valgus deformity needs to be treated surgically to improve appearance, gait and function of the patient. The purpose of this prospective study was to evaluate the results of supracondylar "V" osteotomy as a surgical technique for correction of the valgus knee deformity.

The aza-enediynes were conveniently prepared via a formal vinylic displacement reaction of allyl bromosulfones. The latter functioned as a stable and easily accessible synthetic equivalent of allenyl sulfone.

Bifunctional thiourea compounds catalyze the Michael addition of cyanoacetates with excellent yields and enantioselectivities. The initially formed Michael adducts undergo cyclization to yield functionally rich, fused cyclic imidines bearing a quaternary benzylic chiral center.

Materials And Methods: Fecal samples were collected from human beings with or without the history of diarrhea from different hospitals of Mizoram. Samples were processed for isolation and identification of Escherichia coli, Salmonella and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
Aim: Clinical histopathological and molecular diagnosis of classical swine fever disease in pigs of Mizoram.
Materials And Methods: Totally, 31 clinically suspected pigs from 6 districts of Mizoram were examined, and clinical symptoms were recorded. Detailed post mortem examination of all the 31 dead animals was conducted, and gross changes were recorded.

The present study was conducted to investigate the prevalence of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Escherichia coli carrying other virulence genes associated with piglet diarrhoea. Faecal samples from the piglets with history of diarrhoea were processed for isolation of E. coli and were tested for their ability of ESBL production.

The disease was initially reported from Angara Goth, Pakistan, and then from India during 1994, in the poultry belt of Jammu and Kashmir, and thereafter, from almost all parts of the country, causing heavy economic losses to the poultry industry. The disease occurs predominantly in broilers of the age group of 3-5 weeks, characterized by sudden onset of high mortality up to 80 %.

A fowl adenovirus was isolated from wild Black Kites (Milvus migrans) that died around Kashipur, Uttarakhand, India. This virus isolate produced cytopathic effects in chicken embryo liver (CEL) cells and reacted with fowl adenovirus 4 (FadV-4) antiserum in agar gel immunodiffusion and immunofluorescence tests. The virus isolate was neutralized by FadV-4 antiserum with a neutralization titer of 800.

The development of new myocardial perfusion imaging agents for positron emission tomography (PET) may improve the resolution and quantitation of changes in regional myocardial perfusion measurement. It is known that a (68)Ge/(68)Ga generator can provide a convenient source of PET tracers because of the long physical half-life of (68)Ge (271 days). A new ligand, 7,8-dithia-16,24-diaza-trispiro[5.

After characterizing the expression of both the proteins in vitro, the bicistronic DNA vaccine was injected in mice and induced immune response was compared with monocistronic DNA vaccines. There was no significant difference in ELISA and virus neutralizing (VN) antibody responses against rabies and CPV in mice immunized with either bicistronic or monocistronic DNA vaccine.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA novel approach of producing positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agents through the formation of bioconjugates based on a pegylation-fluorination strategy resulting in fluoro-pegylated (FPEG) molecules is reported. This approach offers a simple and easy method by which to incorporate 18F in the target molecule without an appreciable increase in the lipophilicity. After 18F labeling, this convenient approach leads to PET imaging probes binding to Abeta aggregates in the brain (an important factor associated with Alzheimer's disease) using the known core structures, such as [2-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)-vinyl]-benzoxazol (3') or 2-phenylbenzothiazole (4).
