Domestic laundry wastewater is a major contributor to microfiber emissions in the aquatic environment. Among several mitigation measures, the use of external filters to capture microfibers from wastewater is one of the most efficient and commercially viable methods. In the construction of steel structures, the two most common types of structural members are hot-formed and cold-formed members. This paper mainly describes the analytical and experimental research on the strength and characteristics of CFS bolted built-up sigma sections having different structural arrangements under bending. An adsorbent prepared by entrapping active carbon derived from the stems of plant in the calcium alginate beads (CABAA) has been investigated for its adsorption nature towards the removal of phosphate by varying various physicochemical parameters. Surface morphological studies are made using FTIR, XRD, FESEM, and EDX. The sorption mechanism is analyzed using Freundlich, Langmuir, Dubinin-Radushkevich, and Temkin adsorption isotherms.
