Risk factors associated with postoperative complications in pediatric thyroidectomy: A single-center Vietnamese experience.

Background: Pediatric thyroid carcinoma presents unique surgical challenges, with potentially significant postoperative complications affecting long-term developmental outcomes. This investigation aimed to evaluate postoperative complications following thyroidectomy in pediatric patients and identify associated prognostic factors within a high-volume Vietnamese surgical center.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 112 pediatric patients (≤18 years) who underwent thyroidectomy for differentiated thyroid carcinoma between January 2014 and January 2023.

Background: To analyze the influence of lymph node ratio (LNR) in survival of clinically node-negative (cN0) patients with floor of mouth squamous cell carcinoma (FMSCC).

Materials And Methods: Clinicopathologic data from 48 patients with cN0 FMSCC who underwent curative surgery and selective neck dissection from 2015 to 2020 was retrospectively assessed. The impact of LNR and other variables on overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) was analyzed in univariate and multivariate analyses.

Transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy vestibular approach versus conventional open thyroidectomy for the treatment of benign thyroid tumours: A prospective cohort study.

Introduction: Thyroid tumours are a common condition and open surgery is a conventional method for treating benign thyroid tumours when surgery is indicated. In this study, we evaluate the outcomes of benign thyroid tumour treatment using transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy via vestibular approach (TOETVA) and compare the results with those of conventional open thyroidectomy (COT).

Patients And Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study between 100 patients who underwent TOETVA and 100 who underwent COT surgery for benign diseases from June 2018 to December 2021 in our hospital.

Background: Recently, modified radical neck dissection (MRND) for papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) has been performed by the transoral endoscopic approach. However, dissection of level II lymph nodes using only the transoral approach is highly difficult because of the inadequate axis of surgical view. Hence, we decided to combine the transoral and chest approaches to perform MRND.

The Effects of Nutrition Intervention on Postoperative Patients with Tongue Cancer and Floor of Mouth Cancer.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of intensive nutrition support on patients with tongue cancer and floor of mouth cancer after surgery at K Hospital, Tan Trieu campus. Study the clinical intervention with a control group. We conducted the intensive nutrition intervention for our patients by giving counseling materials, sample menu and nutritional supplements, while the control group had only advice about dietary regimens.

Background: Recently, transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy via the vestibular approach (TOETVA) has become popular worldwide.1-3 After controlling for the technique, the authors used the transoral endoscopic approach to modified radical neck dissection (MRND) for papillary thyroid carcinoma with clinically positive lymph nodes in the lateral compartments. To the best of their knowledge, the authors report the first case of TOETVA for MRND.

Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy via Vestibular Approach With 4 Trocars: A New Technique.
