Impact of GLP-1 receptor agonists on upper gastrointestinal endoscopy: an updated systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) are commonly used to treat diabetes and obesity. Emerging evidence suggests that GLP-1 RAs may be linked to increased gastric residual content (GRC), aspiration pneumonia, and aborted esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) procedures. Although a recent meta-analysis showed an increased risk of GRC and aborted EGDs with GLP-1 RA use, it could not definitively establish a link to aspiration events due to limited data.

Introduction: The rising prevalence of obesity and demand for minimally invasive treatments has led to increased adoption of endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG). As telemedicine expands in bariatrics, understanding the role of virtual follow-up care is crucial. This study aims to use propensity-matching to compare weight loss and metabolic outcomes between virtual and in-person follow-up modalities post-ESG.

Investigating medical students' satisfaction towards video-based learning versus face-to-face lectures: a Jordanian tertiary teaching hospital experience.

Purpose: We aimed to evaluate the disparity between video-based learning and lecture-based learning on Jordanian medical students' satisfaction.

Methods: We conducted this cross-sectional study using a web-based questionnaire adapted from Student Evaluation of Educational Quality survey. Using convenience sampling, medical students studying at the University of Jordan and Jordan University Hospital were recruited.
