Background: Cognitive behavioural therapy for fatigue (CBT-F) and insomnia (CBT-I) are effective therapies. Little is known on their effectiveness when severe fatigue and insomnia co-occur.
Aims: This observational study investigated whether the co-occurrence of fatigue and insomnia influences the outcomes of CBT-F and CBT-I.
Objective: This meta-analysis and systematic review assessed whether personalization within psychological treatments for mental health problems or persistent somatic symptoms improves treatment outcomes, compared to non- or less personalized treatments.
Method: APA PsycInfo, Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, and EMBASE were searched up to January 14, 2024, for randomized controlled trials comparing within-treatment personalization against no or less personalization. Risk of bias was assessed with the Cochrane tool.
Introduction: Long-acting regimens (LAR) are emerging as a promising strategy to enhance treatment satisfaction and improve quality of life of people with HIV. A comprehensive understanding of treatment preferences is essential to effectively address the needs and expectations of people with HIV.
Design: A discrete choice experiment (DCE) was conducted to identify preferences for LAR among people with HIV.
Objective: Stigma impedes the HIV care continuum and contributes to problematic mental health outcomes, non-adherence and reduced quality of life. We prospectively analysed changes in HIV stigma measures over 10-years among older people with HIV (PWH).
Design: PWH participating in the AGEhIV Cohort Study completed the full Berger HIV Stigma Scale (HSS) between 2012-2014 (T0) and two of the HSS subscales - i.

Introduction: Understanding preferences for long-acting regimens (LAR) of people with HIV and health care professionals (HCPs) is important to optimize and personalize care. We identified preferences for current and future LAR among people with HIV and investigated HCPs' willingness to discuss these options.
Methods: This study was conducted during routine clinic visits at Amsterdam UMC between September 2023 and March 2024.
Insomnia is common in patients with medical comorbidity. First-line treatment for insomnia is cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I). However, some patients with medical comorbidities prefer pharmacological treatment.

Study Objectives: In a randomized controlled non-inferiority trial, we aimed to determine whether low dose Amitriptyline (AM), which is often used off-label, is a safe and effective alternative to cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) in the treatment of insomnia among patients with insomnia and medical comorbidity.
Methods: A total of 187 participants with insomnia and medical comorbidity were randomly allocated to either: 1) 12 weeks of AM, 10-20 mg (n = 93), or 2) 12 weeks of group CBT-I, 7 sessions (n = 94). Assessments took place at baseline, 6 and 12 weeks after start of treatment.
Background: This study explored the expected impact of two hypothetical HIV cure scenarios on quality of life, sexual satisfaction, and stigma among people with HIV and key populations (i.e., partners and communities of people with HIV and men who have sex with men without HIV) in the Netherlands.

We sought to investigate the presence and long-term change of objective cognitive functioning. Forty-six initially hospitalized (18 ± 19 days) COVID-19 survivors (male/female: 30/16; age: 61 ± 11) underwent extensive neuropsychological assessment (including performance validity) approximately 1 (T1) and 2.

The purpose of our study was to determine the prevalence of posttraumatic stress disorder PTSD in PWH. PWH in care Amsterdam University Medical center (Amsterdam UMC) with access to the electronic patient portal were offered patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) between May 2022 and May 2023, including the PC-PTSD-5 screen for PTSD as part of routine clinical care.

DHS include tools for self-management, which support individuals to take charge of their own health. The usability of DHS, as experienced by patients, is pivotal to adoption.

The long-term sequelae of COVID-19 may be influenced by biomedical, psychological, and social factors, the interplay of which is largely understudied over time. We aimed to investigate how the interplay of these factors contribute to the persistence of symptoms after COVID-19.

The aim of this qualitative study was to gain insight into the reasons why endoscopically treated patients fear or not fear cancer recurrence. Patients treated endoscopically for T1 esophageal adenocarcinoma participated in a semi-structured interview.

The study aimed to compare neuropsychological functioning between individuals with and without these persistent subjective complaints. : Individuals with and without persistent severe fatigue (Checklist Individual Strength (CIS) fatigue ≥ 35) and difficulty concentrating (CIS concentration ≥ 18) at least 3 months after SARS-CoV-2 infection were included.

We described longitudinal trajectories of cytokines in adults up to 6 months following SARS-CoV-2 infection and explored early predictors of PASC.
Methods: RECoVERED is a prospective cohort of individuals with laboratory-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection between May 2020 and June 2021 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Objectives: Thoracoscopic ablation has proven to be an effective and safe rhythm control strategy, especially for persistent atrial fibrillation. However, its impact on quality of life (QoL) and potential gender differences remains unclear.
Methods: This prospective, single-centre observational study included consecutive patients with symptomatic atrial fibrillation undergoing thoracoscopic ablation.

Objectives: Surgical aortic valve replacement through conventional sternotomy yields excellent results. Minimally invasive techniques are deemed equally safe and serve as a viable and less traumatic alternative. However, it is unclear how both surgical techniques affect patient-reported outcomes.

However, how immunity to SARS-CoV-2 is induced and regulated remains unclear. Here, we uncover the role of the complement system in the induction of innate and adaptive immunity to SARS-CoV-2.

This paper describes the implementation of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)-specific cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for IBD patients with poor quality of life (QoL), anxiety and depression, in four hospitals in the Netherlands. Treatment outcomes were compared with those of a previously published randomized control trial (RCT) of 'IBD-specific CBT', following a benchmark strategy. Primary outcome was IBD-specific QoL (IBDQ) completed before and after CBT, secondary outcomes were anxiety and depressive symptoms (HADS, CES-D).

Given the overlapping features, insomnia can be underdiagnosed in post-COVID-19 fatigue patients. This study aimed to determine insomnia severity, prevalence of clinical insomnia and sleep characteristics of post-COVID-19 fatigue patients.

Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) can signal potential physical and mental health problems related to QoL. This study aims to determine whether PROMs in routine clinical care improve quality of care as experienced by people with HIV (PWH).
