Objectives: We aimed to determine the prevalence of hospital discharge communication problems in adults of 10 high-income nations and the associated factors.
Design: Secondary analysis of cross-sectional survey data.
Setting: 2023 Commonwealth Fund International Health Policy Survey for Adults, including data from residents of Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the USA.
Background: The escalating substance use disorder (SUD) crisis in the contiguous United States (US), with rising mortality since 1999, necessitates a spatiotemporal analysis to identify high-risk areas and vulnerable populations. This study examines the geospatial distribution and clustering patterns of SUD mortality, assessing disparities by race and urban-rural status.
Methods: We analyzed county-level ecological data on SUD-related deaths from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from 2005 to 2020.

Objective: To develop and pilot test a new instrument measuring workplace mental health and well-being among health professionals.
Participants And Methods: A new survey instrument (hereafter referred to as the ) was developed using Qualtrics on the basis of the 5 essentials in the Office of the Surgeon General's (OSG) framework for workplace mental health and well-being (protection from harm, connection and community, work-life harmony, mattering at work, and opportunity for growth). The contains 22 core questions (on a 1-5 Likert scale) and several demographic characteristic questions.
Objectives: To understand the link between perceived racial/ethnic discrimination among older adults and 2 health service utilization processes: (1) visiting health care providers or emergency room (ER), and (2) repeated visits after the first encounter.
Methods: Analysis of 2021 Commonwealth Fund International Health Policy Survey of Older Adults-a nationally representative, self-reported, and cross-sectional survey from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. We used a 2-part multivariable hurdle model.
Objectives: To determine the prevalence of hospital discharge communication problems with older adults, compare them across countries and determine factors associated with those problems.
Design: Secondary analysis of cross-sectional survey data.
Setting: 2021 Commonwealth Fund International Health Policy (IHP) Survey of Older Adults conducted across 11 high-income countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the USA.
Background: Elderly population is increasing in high-income countries. For instance, by 2050, 21.4% of the United States population is expected to be 65+, thus making advance care planning (ACP) increasingly important.

Purpose: Race-based correction is widely utilized in clinical practice, but may contribute to overestimation of lung function, underdiagnoses in minority groups, and exclusion of minority groups from research trials. The aim of this systematic review is to examine the usage of race-based correction in pulmonary function testing (PFT) within chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD) research and its impact on the exclusion of minority groups from research trials.
Methods: We systematically searched Medline from 2010 to 2022 to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that examine inhaler therapy for COPD.
Collaborations are critical to address rural health challenges. We evaluated a new international collaboration between institutions in Georgia, the United States (US), and Scotland, United Kingdom (UK), to address rural health issues and to understand the barriers and facilitators to effective international collaboration efforts. A qualitative approach was used through in-depth interviews and focus groups with educators, researchers, and healthcare providers in the US and Scotland who were involved in the CONVERGE international rural health collaboration.

This study examined the prevalence, need, and demand satisfied by modern contraceptive methods for women who tested positive for HIV (both unmarried and married) in 10 countries in SSA. We used the Family Planning Estimation Tool (FPET) to generate national-level trends and projections from 1983 through 2030.

Since 2005, health insurance (HI) coverage in India has significantly increased, largely because of the introduction of government-funded pro-poor insurance programs. As a result, the determinants of HI enrollment and their relative importance may have changed. Using National Family Health Survey (NFHS)-4 data, collected in 2015-2016, and employing a Probit regression model, we re-examine the determinants of household HI enrollment.

Background: Caste plays a significant role in individual healthcare access and health outcomes in India. We determined the period prevalence and SARS-CoV-2 reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction positivity in relation to clinical and demographic characteristics in healthy travellers quarantined at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Methods: The study was conducted from 15 to 25 April 2020.
Background: There remains a disproportionally high tobacco smoking rate in low-income populations. Multicomponent tobacco dependence interventions in theory are effective. However, which intervention components are necessary to include for low socioeconomic status (SES) populations is still unknown.

This paper argues that health policies should transcend national boundaries yet should not reach the supranational level. Along with multinational global health efforts, such cross-national health policies are essential to leverage joint efforts by countries learning from their peers that experience similar health system challenges. In our analysis, we used World Bank Health, Nutrition, and Population (HNP) data from 1995 to 2014 for East Asia Pacific (EAP) countries to explore health system comparability across member nations.
