Atraumatic Bilateral Patella Fracture in Middle-Aged Female: A Rare Case Report.

The patella is the largest sesamoid bone in the body and an important structure of the extensor apparatus which is under undue stress during flexion and extension of the knee. Bilateral fracture of the patella without trauma is a very rare event and may be multifactorial without a single cause. A repetitive stress reaction in a previously predisposed bone can be an important cause.

Kaplan's Lesion in a Child: A Case Report.

Unlabelled: Kaplan's lesion is a rare complex metacarpophalangeal joint dislocation. A 7-year-old female child presented with pain, swelling and inability to move her right index finger. Her mother gave a history of sustaining a fall injury on the same hand around 3 weeks back.

Ilizarov Ring External Fixation for Complex Tibial Plateau Fractures.

 To analyze the results of clinical, radiological, and functional outcomes of tibial plateau fracture (Schatzker Type V, VI) treated with Illizarov ring external fixator with or without minimum opening.  A total of 52 tibial plateau fractures of type V, VI were treated with Ilizarov ring external fixator with or without mininum internal fixation were studied. Functional outcome assessment was done using the American Knee Society (AKS) score with clinical, radiological union, and complications were analyzed.

Minimally-Invasive Plate Osteosynthesis for Clavicle Fractures.

 To analyze the radiological, clinical, and functional outcomes of clavicle fractures treated with the minimally-invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) technique.  From June 2018 to July 2019, 17 cases of clavicular fractures were managed using the MIPO technique under C-arm fluoroscopy. The functional outcomes were assessed using the Constant-Murley score and the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) questionnaire.

Intertrochanteric Fracture of the Femur in an Ankylosed Hip: A Case Report.

Intertrochanteric fractures of the femur in ankylosed hips are extremely rare. The aims of the operative management for elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures are to prevent general complications, to maintain mobility, and to relieve pain. The optimal management to achieve these goals is not clear.

Intramedullary Flexible Nailing for Diaphyseal Fractures of Forearm Bones in Children.

 Most of the fractures of the bones of the forearm in children are successfully treated conservatively with closed reduction and casting. The outcomes remain variable and the patients may require additional fracture manipulation or formal surgical intervention due to residual angulations. The present study assesses the radiological and functional outcomes of treating displaced forearm fractures in children with intramedullary flexible titanium elastic nailing.

Bilateral symmetrical synovial chondromatosis of shoulder: a case report.

Synovial chondromatosis is a benign arthropathy rarely seen in diarthrodial joints. Extra-articular bilateral symmetrical synovial chondromatosis of shoulder is the rarest variety. The diagnosis is established with the help of imaging modalities and histopathological examinations.

Minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis for distal tibial fractures.

Purpose: To review the outcomes of 53 patients who underwent minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) for distal tibial fractures.

Methods: Medical records of 31 men and 22 women aged 22 to 78 (mean, 51) years who underwent MIPO using a locking compression plate for distal tibial fractures of the left (n=28) and right (n=25) legs with or without intra-articular extension were reviewed.

Results: Patients were followed up for a mean of 26 (range, 24-38) months.

Study Design: Retrospective review of patients who had pyogenic discitis and were managed surgically.

Purpose: To analyze the bacteriology, pathology, management and outcome of pyogenic discitis of the lumbar region treated surgically.

Overview Of Literature: Surgical management of pyogenic discitis is still an infrequently used modality of treatment.

Bilateral impacted femoral neck fracture in a renal disease patient.

Spontaneous bilateral femoral neck facture in a renal disease patient is not common. We report a case of 47-year-old female patient with chronic renal failure and on regular hemodialysis for the past 5 years who sustained bilateral impacted femoral neck fracture without history of trauma and injury and refused any surgical intervention. The patient was mobilised on wheel chair one year after the fractures.

Less invasive stabilization system for the management of proximal tibia fractures.

Background: Proximal tibia fractures are difficult to treat especially when soft tissues are compromised by conventional open reduction and internal fixation with high complication rates. Many methods have been tried to manage these fractures. Less invasive stabilization system (LISS) is the latest technology applied for these injuries.

Hand injuries in the oil fields of brunei darussalam.

Unlabelled: Hands are essential organs and their agility and dexterity are vital to our daily lives. In the present study, we analysed 107 patients who presented at the local hospital with hand injuries sustained in the oil fields, oil industries and related employment sectors from the surrounding regions. All the patients were male and the mean age was 37.

Minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis in the treatment of isolated ulnar bone fractures.

Background: Minimally invasive internal fixation is also called "biological internal fixation". This concept is used widely in the treatment of various fractures but to date, there have been no report about such application in the repair of isolated ulnar bone fractures.

Methods: Eleven patients with fracture of isolated ulnar bone (four AO type 22A11 and seven AO type 22A12), mean age 43.

Effect of tension on force of contraction of muscle and nerve conduction velocity of the repaired nerve in a rat model.

To investigate the effect of tension on the contractive force of muscle and nerve conduction velocity of the repaired nerve, this study was designed. Fifty-four Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into 3 groups. The left gastrocnemius muscles of the rats were dissected with the neurovascular pedicles intact; the tibial nerves were cut and immediately repaired by epineurial suture.
