Predictors of Postoperative Hypocalcemia and Hypoparathyroidism Following Thyroidectomy in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Background: Hypocalcemia is the most frequent complication of thyroid surgeries. Hypocalcemia is the most common complication following thyroid surgeries and is crucial in managing patients with thyroid cancer.

Objectives: This study aimed to describe hypocalcemia after thyroidectomy and evaluate the factors associated with postoperative hypocalcemia.

Enhancing Nutritional Status and Addressing Micronutrient Deficiencies: Evaluating the Impact of Workplace Nutrition Program on Female Workers in Vietnam.

This randomized controlled clinical study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a nutrition intervention program for non-pregnant female workers in Vietnam. A total of 500 female workers were randomly assigned to the intervention and control groups. Participants in the intervention group were provided nutrition education, personalized specific dietary, and received oral nutrition supplements (ONS)-which contained multi-minerals and vitamins according to recommendations for adults for a duration of 12 wk, while participants in the control group received only nutrition education.

Nutrition intervention is beneficial to the quality of life of patients with gastrointestinal cancer undergoing chemotherapy in Vietnam.

Introduction: The best treatment therapy for gastrointestinal cancer patients is assessed by the improvement of health status and quality of life (QoL) after treatments. Malnutrition is related to loss of muscle strengths which leads to lower physical performance and emotional status. Thus, this study aimed to estimate the effects of nutritional interventions on the improvement of QoL among gastrointestinal patients undergoing chemotherapy in Vietnam.
