Clinical and Trichoscopy Features in Trichorhinophalangeal Syndrome: A Multicenter Retrospective Study.

Introduction: Trichorhinophalangeal syndrome (TRPS) is a rare autosomal dominant genetic disorder characterized by trichological, craniofacial, and skeletal abnormalities. To date, limited data are available on hair involvement in TRPS, especially those focusing on trichoscopy.

Objective: We aimed to describe the epidemiology and the clinical and trichoscopy features of TRPS.

Durable and breathable ZnO/graphene-coated fabrics for enhanced BQR protection.

This work developed a new strategy to create active protection against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats, based on polyurethane-based coatings for outer (water and oil-repellency) and inner (CBRN protection) functionalization of fabric. The internal coatings were functionalized with varying concentrations of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO) and/or graphene nanoplatelets (Gf) and carefully spread onto a military-grade camouflage fabric using a knife coating methodology. Hence, a new double-layered system was created consisting of one double-coated fabric combined with a lining knitted fabric.

Chorioretinal involvement in a patient with paracoccidioidomycosis: a case report.

This case is unique for presenting chorioretinal lesions without vision loss, highlighting the importance of ophthalmologic evaluation in patients diagnosed with Paracoccidioidomycosis. Early antifungal treatment is crucial for preventing severe outcomes.

Statement Of Problem: Identifying the most effective complete denture fabrication method is important to ensure high satisfaction and denture stability. A systematic evaluation of the benefit of using a facebow is lacking.

Purpose: The purpose of this systematic review was to answer the question: "Is the use of a facebow essential for maximizing the satisfaction and quality of life of patients with complete dentures?".

The performance of sensing and optical devices is closely linked to the molecular polarizability response, a property significantly influenced by the polarizability tensor's isotropic and anisotropic components. In this study, we investigate the impact of vibrational motion on polarizability. We analyze how intramolecular vibrations affect the polar properties of molecules commonly employed in refrigerants and gas detection technologies.

This work aims to develop a bio-based fibrous material that is able to adsorb and degrade chemical and biological hazardous agents. Thus, cellulosic fabrics (flax) were functionalized with chitosan (CS) and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) electrospun nanofibers doped with titanium dioxide (TiO) and cerium dioxide (CeO) nanoparticles (NPs). The electrospray deposition of these NPs was also tested.

Event-based dataset for the detection and classification of manufacturing assembly tasks.

The featured dataset, the , showcases a selection of manufacturing primitive tasks (idle, pick, place, and screw), which are basic actions performed by human operators in any manufacturing assembly. The data were captured using a DAVIS240C event camera, an asynchronous vision sensor that registers events when changes in light intensity value occur. Events are a lightweight data format for conveying visual information and are well-suited for real-time detection and analysis of human motion.

Corneal Collagen Crosslinking for Ectasia After Refractive Surgery: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

An interpretable machine learning system for colorectal cancer diagnosis from pathology slides.

Considering the profound transformation affecting pathology practice, we aimed to develop a scalable artificial intelligence (AI) system to diagnose colorectal cancer from whole-slide images (WSI). For this, we propose a deep learning (DL) system that learns from weak labels, a sampling strategy that reduces the number of training samples by a factor of six without compromising performance, an approach to leverage a small subset of fully annotated samples, and a prototype with explainable predictions, active learning features and parallelisation. Noting some problems in the literature, this study is conducted with one of the largest WSI colorectal samples dataset with approximately 10,500 WSIs.

Background: Leukemias stand out for being the main type of childhood cancer in the world. Current treatments have strong side effects for patients, and there is still a high rate of development of resistance to multidrug therapy. Previously, our research group developed a structure-activity study with novel synthetic molecules analogous to LQB-278, described as an essential molecule with in vitro antileukemic action.

Brevitentoria Weaver 1984 (Trichoptera: Integripalpia) of Esprito Santo State, Brazil: New records and new species.

In Brazil, about 900 species of Trichoptera have been recorded, with some species in all Brazilian states. Nevertheless, the collection effort is unequal, with several under-sampled regions. Despite being located entirely within the Atlantic Forest ecoregion, a hotspot of biodiversity, Esprito Santo State has a low known caddisfly richness when compared to nearby areas in the same ecoregion, especially for the infraorder Brevitentoria.

Background:  Hereditary or familial spastic paraplegias (SPG) comprise a group of genetically and phenotypically heterogeneous diseases characterized by progressive degeneration of the corticospinal tracts. The complicated forms evolve with other various neurological signs and symptoms, including movement disorders and ataxia.

Objective:  To summarize the clinical descriptions of SPG that manifest with movement disorders or ataxias to assist the clinician in the task of diagnosing these diseases.

Modelling the quenching effect of chloroaluminum phthalocyanine and graphene oxide interactions: implications for phototherapeutic applications.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT) are promising candidates for cancer treatment and their efficiency can be further enhanced by using a combination of both. While chloroaluminum phthalocyanine (AlClPc) has been studied extensively as a photosensitizer in PDT, nanographene oxide (nGO) has shown promise in PTT due to its high absorption of near-infrared radiation. In this work, we investigate the energy transport between AlClPc and nGO for their combined use in phototherapies.

To accurately explore the anatomical organization of neural circuits in the brain, it is crucial to map the experimental brain data onto a standardized system of coordinates. Studying 2D histological mouse brain slices remains the standard procedure in many laboratories. Mapping these 2D brain slices is challenging; due to deformations, artifacts, and tilted angles introduced during the standard preparation and slicing process.

Plasma and CSF concentrations of N-terminal tau fragments associate with in vivo neurofibrillary tangle burden.

Introduction: Fluid biomarkers capable of specifically tracking tau tangle pathology in vivo are greatly needed.

Methods: We measured cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and plasma concentrations of N-terminal tau fragments (NTA-tau), using a novel immunoassay (NTA) in the TRIAD cohort, consisting of 272 individuals assessed with amyloid beta (Aβ) positron emission tomography (PET), tau PET, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and cognitive assessments.

Results: CSF and plasma NTA-tau concentrations were specifically increased in cognitively impaired Aβ-positive groups.
