The aim of this study was to evaluate the deviation from the surgical plan of femoral and tibial components positioning after robotic total knee arthroplasty (R-TKA) compared with conventional TKA (C-TKA) based on postoperative three-dimensional computed tomography (3D-CT). This prospective randomized trial included 60 patients: 29 in the C-TKA group and 31 in the R-TKA one. Early postoperative 3D-CT-based analysis of implants positioning was performed.

Background: Prediction of ventricular arrhythmias (VA) mostly relies on left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), but with limited performance. New echocardiographic parameters such as mechanical dispersion have emerged, but acoustic window sometimes precludes this measurement. Nuclear imaging may be an alternative.

Background: While docetaxel/cisplatin/5-fluorouracil (DCF) outperforms CF in first-line gastric adenocarcinoma, toxicity remains an issue.
Methods: This multicenter phase II trial randomized chemonaïve metastatic gastric adenocarcinoma patients to fractionated weekly DCF (D 40 mg/m , C 35 mg/m², F 1800 mg/m² over 24 h, on days 1 and 8 every 3 weeks, arm (1) or fortnightly DCF (D 50 mg/m , C 50 mg/m², F 2000 mg/m² over 48 h every 2 weeks, arm (2). Prophylactic granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) was not allowed.
Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is a major cause of chronic pulmonary hypertension leading to right heart failure and death. Ventilation/perfusion single photon emission computed tomography (V/Q SPECT) is the screening test of choice showing mismatch in at least one segment or two sub-segments. Our aim was to investigate the relationship between the extent of pulmonary perfusion defects and hemodynamic, echocardiographic, biological and functional parameters.

The relationship between arteriovenous access flow (Qa) and cardiovascular changes is complex. Several studies have shown cardiac remodeling and symptoms of heart failure for high-flow arteriovenous fistulas (AVF). To evaluate the early cardiovascular impact of AVF.

Aims: To investigate the accuracy of tomographic equilibrium radionuclide ventriculography (t-ERV) for the quantification of tricuspid regurgitation (TR).
Methods And Results: Sixty-one patients (44 men; mean age 59 ± 12 years) who underwent both t-ERV and transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) studies within 2 weeks for right ventricular systolic function assessment were eligible for inclusion.

Background: Structural and morphological changes accompanying liver cirrhosis lead to portal hypertension (PHT), which is the first step of most of the complications in patients with liver cirrhosis. Therefore, the development of noninvasive techniques to detect PHT is crucial for prognosis and treatment.
Aim: The aim of our study was to assess the diagnostic performance of a new spleno-hepatic index (SHI) measured from equilibrium radionuclide ventriculography (ERV) images in detecting patients with cirrhotic PHT.
Aims: The purpose of the study was to describe the pattern of Tc-labeled phosphate agents myocardial uptake by scintigraphy and explore its impact on left ventricular (LV) functions in transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (TTR-CA).
Methods: Fifty patients with TTR-CA underwent Tc- hydroxymethylene-diphosphonate (Tc-HMDP) scintigraphy and echocardiography with measure of LV thickness, longitudinal strain (LS), systolic and diastolic functions. Cardiac retention by scintigraphy was assessed by visual scoring and the heart/whole body (H/WB) ratio was calculated by dividing counts in the heart by counts in late whole-body images.

Purpose: This study aims to predict hematological toxicity induced by Ra therapy. We investigated the value of metabolically active bone tumor volume (MBTV) and total bone lesion activity (TLA) calculated on pretreatment fluorine-18-fluorocholine (F-FCH) PET/CT in castrate-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) patients with bone metastases treated with Ra radionuclide therapy.
Patients And Methods: F-FCH PET/CT imaging was performed in 15 patients with CRPC before treatment with Ra.
Vemurafenib improves the management of advanced melanoma due to selective inhibition of the mutated BRAF V600E kinase. FDG-PET-CT is a tool for the evaluation of the biologic impact of inhibiting mutant BRAF. With vemurafenib at day 15, all the patients had at least partial metabolic response.

Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive anaplastic large cell lymphoma is characterized by 2p23/ aberrations, including the classic t(2;5)(p23;q35)/ rearrangement present in ~80% of cases and several variant t(2p23/ALK) occurring in the remaining cases. The fusion partners play a key role in the constitutive activation of the chimeric protein and its subcellular localization. Using various molecular technologies, we have characterized ALK fusions in eight recently diagnosed anaplastic large cell lymphoma cases with cytoplasmic-only ALK expression.

Early noninvasive identification is of growing clinical importance. The objective of our study was to integrate clinical, biologic, electrocardiographic and echocardiographic parameters to build a diagnostic score in patients with LVH.

Background: Left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) require serial assessment of right and left ventricular (RV & LV) volumes and function. Because the RV is not assisted, its function is a critical determinant of the hemodynamic and contributes significantly to postoperative morbidity and mortality. We evaluated the feasibility and the accuracy of tomographic-equilibrium radionuclide ventriculography (t-ERV) for the assessment of patients with LVADs.

Introduction: During the past few years, several studies describing direct identification of bacteria from blood culture using mass spectrometry have been published. These methods cannot, however, be easily integrated into a common laboratory workflow because of the high hands-on time they require. In this paper, we propose a new method of identification with a short hands-on time and a turnaround time shorter than 15min.

A 58-old-man underwent (18)F-fluorocholine PET/CT for restaging of prostate cancer because of a rising level of prostate-specific antigen.( 18)F-fluorocholine showed no significant tracer uptake at the site of the prostatectomy or the pelvic lymph nodes. Incidental high tracer uptake was observed in a 26 × 23 mm left thyroid nodule.

This study evaluated three algorithms: BP-SPECT, QBS, and TOMPOOL (results are referred using this order). We compared (1) their "quantitative-accuracy": estimation of RV ejection fraction (EF), end-diastolic volume (EDV), and cardiac output (CO); (2) their "qualitative-accuracy": threshold values allowing diagnosing an impairment of the RV function; (3) their reproducibility: inter-observer relative variability (IOV).

Emerging evidence indicates that iron chelation therapy (ICT) could reduce mortality and improve survival in transfusion-dependent MDS patients, especially those classified as International Prognostic Scoring System (IPSS) Low or Intermediate-1 (Low/Int-1).

Materials And Methods: (99m)Tc sestamibi scintigraphy was performed in 94 consecutive patients. Images included early and delayed planar neck images and delayed neck and thorax SPECT/CT.
Introduction: Anthracycline extravasation (ACEV) is a rare but potentially devastating event which can result in severe injuries including ulceration and necrosis, slow-healing lesions, serious joint damage and permanent disfigurement. It can delay further scheduled chemotherapy and affect cancer treatment outcome. Savene® (dexrazoxane) is the only approved antidote for ACEV in Europe (Totect® in the USA) and is administered by intravenous infusion.
