Sleep quality among clinical postgraduate students: a cross-sectional study in Kerala, India.

Background: Sleep disturbances and stress are common among postgraduate medical students, adversely affect their physical and mental health, academic performance, and patient care. However, the existing evidence does not provide a comprehensive understanding of sleep pattern of medical students in India. We studied sleep pattern and associated factors of clinical medical postgraduate students in Kerala state of India.

Development of a lateral flow immunoassay for rapid detection of piper yellow mottle and cucumber mosaic viruses in black pepper.

Piper yellow mottle virus (PYMoV) and cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) are major viral pathogens causing stunt disease in black pepper and related Piper species. As no chemical control is available, early and accurate detection is essential to prevent virus spread through vegetative propagation. Existing PCR-based assays are effective but often time-consuming, expensive, and reliant on specialized equipment.

Basal stem rot disease, caused by Ganoderma spp., is the major economic menace of oil palm cultivation. Unlabelled: Large cardamom chirke virus (LCCV) causing disease of large cardamom is a major production constraint of this crop. Rapid and accurate detection of LCCV is important for managing the disease. In the present study an isothermal assay namely, reverse transcriptase-recombinase polymerase amplification (RT-RPA) was developed for the detection of LCCV.
