Migrants and refugees have risk factors, such as low vaccination rates, poor hygiene, malnutrition, and inadequate self-care, which increase their risk of contracting infectious diseases. For example, the prevalence of tuberculosis among refugee populations in host countries is increasing, and imaging findings related to tuberculosis are frequently observed by radiologists.

Introduction: This study aimed to demonstrate the relationship between hemodynamic changes in head blood flow and headache during the premenstrual period in patients experiencing premenstrual syndrome.

Methods: Thirty-two female patients experiencing premenstrual headaches were prospectively examined using carotid and vertebral artery duplex ultrasonography during headache episodes in the premenstrual periods and headache-free periods across two consecutive menstrual cycles. The diameters and areas of both the carotid and vertebral arteries, along with systolic and end-diastolic velocities, pulsatility and resistivity indices, and volumetric flow rates, were measured using grayscale imaging.

Background: Giant cell (gc)-enriched glioblastoma (gcGB) represents a distinct histological variant of isocitrate dehydrogenase wild-type adult-type glioblastoma with notable enlarged mono- or multinuclear tumor cells. While some studies suggest a survival advantage for gcGB patients, the underlying causes remain elusive. GcGBs are associated with TP53 mutations, and gcs were shown to accumulate DNA double-strand breaks and show deficient mitosis, potentially triggering cellular senescence programs.

A large number of applications for fibroblast activation protein inhibitors (FAPI)-based PET agents have been evaluated in conditions ranging from cancer to non-malignant diseases such as myocardial infarction. In particular, Ga-FAPI-46 was reported to have a high specificity and affinity for FAP-expressing cells, a fast and high accumulation in tumor lesions/injuries together with a fast body clearance when investigated in vivo. Due to the increasing interest in the use of the agent both preclinically and clinically, we developed an automated synthesis for the production of Ga-FAPI-46 on a Trasis AiO platform.

Background: Developmental venous anomalies (DVAs) can be determined on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and they may be associated with multiple sclerosis (MS) lesions.

Distinguishing tumors from normal brain cells is important but challenging in glioma surgery due to the lack of clear interfaces between the two. The ability of label-free third harmonic generation (THG) microscopy in combination with automated image analysis to quantitatively detect glioma infiltration in fresh, unprocessed tissue in real time is assessed. The THG images reveal increased cellularity in grades II-IV glioma samples from 23 patients, as confirmed by subsequent hematoxylin and eosin histology.
