PP2C phosphatases regulate key physiological processes in plants, essential for growth, development, and stress responses. Sugarcane, a vital crop for many economies, faces severe abiotic stress, which negatively impacts production. Given the role of the PP2C gene family in stress tolerance and the recent publication of the genome sequence of the modern polyploid sugarcane cultivar R570, this study conducted genome-wide identification and characterization of the PP2C gene family in sugarcane.

Case Report: This report presents an 18-year-old male who sustained fractures at the C4 and C5 levels after a traumatic fall, resulting in complete motor loss (0/5) and partial sensation (1/2) in both upper and lower limbs. Following posterior decompression and stabilization from C3 to C5, his neurological function improved: upper limb strength increased to 3/5, lower limb strength to 1/5, and sensory function was fully restored in both limbs (2/2).
Sodium vanadium fluorophosphate (NaVO(PO)F, NVOPF), with a NASICON framework, is a promising cathode material due to its robust 3D structure, high operating potential (∼3.8 V), and theoretical energy density (≈494 Wh kg). However, its commercial viability is limited by low electronic conductivity and a reduced practical energy density.

Research indicates that diabetes may alter heart rate and blood pressure responses, affecting recovery dynamics after physical exertion. Isometric handgrip exercises are a practical method for evaluating muscular strength and cardiovascular function.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors have significantly improved outcomes in select cancers; however, not all patients respond to these therapies, and the duration of the response varies among responders. Markers predictive of the response to immunotherapy, such as PD-L1 expression determined by immunohistochemical staining of tumor sections and microsatellite status, have been identified. Some of these are used in companion diagnostics approved for clinical practice.
