IIntroduction: This study aimed to evaluate hearing aid satisfaction and usage patterns across different age groups and to investigate the impact of hearing aids on quality of life. Material and Methods: Hearing aid satisfaction and perceived benefit were evaluated using the International Outcome Inventory for Hearing Aids (IOI-HA), administered via phone interview after at least 6 months of use. A total of 850 patients who were prescribed hearing aids for the first time at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology between January 2020 and January 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.

Recent studies have highlighted the potential role of inflammatory biomarkers, such as neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and systemic immune inflammation index (SII), in enhancing diagnostic accuracy for distinguishing between benign and malignant parotid gland tumors. This study aimed to evaluate the use of inflammatory biomarkers - NLR, platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), SII, and systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) - in the differential diagnosis of parotid gland tumors.

Background And Aim: To investigate the prognostic value of the HALP (Hemoglobin, Albumin, Lymphocyte, and Platelet) score for mortality in patients with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).
Methods: From November 2020, 39 patients with IPF were followed for a duration of 3 years. At the end of 3 years, the relationship between the initial HALP score and mortality was investigated.
: The association between past coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) infection and pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) is a potential research topic. We aimed to research the prevalence of previous COVID-19 infection in patients with PTE and to determine whether there is a difference in embolism severity in these cases. Study design: Multicenter, observational, cross-sectional.

Novel therapeutic approaches, including therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) and continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF), have emerged as promising modalities for mitigating the effects of this condition by facilitating detoxification and enhancing liver function. The efficacy of these interventions, whether administered individually or in combination, is a prominent area of investigation in the management of liver failure among adult populations.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 209 patients and divided the patients into two groups; AHI ≥ 30 and AHI < 30. The groups were compared using the Mann-Whitney U and the chi-square test.

Background: Some preoperative and postoperative audiological outcomes may be associated with quality of life (QoL) in stapedotomy patients.
Aims: The aim of this study is to determine which frequencies and conduction pathways improve following this surgery and to assess their effects on QoL.
Material And Methods: Cases who underwent small fenestra stapedotomy were retrospectively reviewed.
Importance: This study addresses the characteristics, kidney replacement therapy (KRT) modalities, and outcomes in children diagnosed with crush syndrome following an earthquake in Turkey.
Objective: To analyze the associations of different KRT modalities with long-term dialysis dependency and length of stay (LOS) in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
Design, Setting, And Participants: This multicenter, prospective, and retrospective cohort study was conducted across 20 PICUs in Turkey.
Hepcidin is a biomarker produced by hepatocytes in chronic disease anemia and is known to increase during chronic inflammation. This study compares the hepcidin levels in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) patients and controls, evaluating its relationship with anemia and systemic inflammation in IPF patients. This study included 82 IPF patients and 31 controls.

Methods: Cross-over, multicenter, randomized, single-blind clinical trial. Patients between the ages of 1 month and 18 years who were undergoing IMV therapy for acute hypoxemic respiratory failure (AHRF) were assigned at random to either begin with a 2-hour period of closed-loop oxygen control or manual oxygen titrations.
Liver failure represents a critical medical condition, marked by the rapid decline of hepatic functions. Emerging therapies, notably therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) and continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF), have demonstrated potential in mitigating these conditions through their roles in detoxification and hepatic support. The utility of these treatments, whether applied individually or in tandem, constitutes a significant area of research concerning the management of liver failure in pediatric patients.

Our study aims to determine the relationship between exacerbation periods and HALP (hemoglobin, albumin, lymphocyte, platelet) scores in patients with bronchiectasis.
Materials And Methods: Adult patients diagnosed with bronchiectasis and followed up in our clinic between 02.
Background: In pediatric intensive care units, extubation failure following invasive mechanical ventilation poses significant health risks. Determining readiness for extubation in children can minimize associated morbidity and mortality. This study investigates the potential role of renal near-infrared spectroscopy (RrSO2) in predicting extubation failure in pediatric patients.

Despite advancements in the treatment and prevention of injuries, the risk of trauma in children remains a persistent concern. Severe trauma cases often necessitate admission to a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).

Background: Early treatment of severe acute hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection with nucleos(t)ide analogues may prevent progression to acute liver failure (ALF).

Pediatric septic shock is defined as progressive multi-organ dysfunction and cardiovascular dysfunction accompanying sepsis. Studies showing myocardial dysfunction associated with pediatric septic shock are very limited. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between myocardial functions calculated by echocardiography, disease severity, and clinical outcomes in children with septic shock.

Objectives: The exact mechanism that causes the neurotoxicity of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is still unknown. In this retrospective study, we aimed to define the frequency of hyperammonemia and its relationship with HE.
Methods: The records of 190 patients who were followed up in the Organ transplantation and Hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery intensive care unit (ICU) between August 2021 and August 2022 were reviewed retrospectively.

Background: Hyperlactatemia is a common finding in critically ill patients and has significant prognostic implications. However, a single lactate measurement has not been correlated to mortality consistently. In this study, we aimed to correlate the clinical efficacy of lactate clearance for the prediction of mortality in pediatric intensive care unit patients.
