We used isolated mitochondria to examine phospholipid alterations in the brain, heart, kidney, and liver post-CA. Our data shows that ischemia/reperfusion most significantly alters brain mitochondria phospholipids, predominately after resuscitation.

Right Ventricle Embolization of IVC Filter Fragments: An Incidental Finding.

This case report describes a 52-year-old male patient, with the incidental finding of inferior vena cava filter (IVCF) fragments impacted into the right ventricle, secondary to IVCF fragmentation and subsequent embolization. While IVCFs are prescribed to prevent pulmonary embolizations when anticoagulation is either contraindicated, or has failed, IVCF embolizations to the heart represent an extremely rare, but potentially life-threatening complication. Of note, at the time of writing, the utility and effectiveness of IVCF are not fully established.

A new simple, accurate, precise and sensitive liquid chromatographic method for the analysis of Ciprofloxacin in human plasma, suitable for quantification of drug was developed and validated using HPLC-UV method. The analyte was chromatographically separated from endogenous plasma components on a C-18 reversed phase column (5µm, 25cm × 0.46cm) and detected at 278nm.

The comprehensive model of care consists of four main components: acute care, care for noma sequelae, integrated hospital-based services and community-based services. The model of care is based on the limited evidence available for prevention and treatment of noma and follows WHO's protocols for acute patients and best practice guidelines for the surgical treatment of noma survivors.

Soil erosion is an increasingly serious eco-environmental problem, and effective control of soil erosion is an important part of soil resource protection and ecological restoration. In this study, the multi-scale characteristics and influencing factors of soil erosion were analyzed in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH) region from 2000 to 2015. The results showed that the average soil erosion in the study area was 3500 t/(km·a), in which the severe erosion areas accounted for 10% of the total area.
