Background And Study Aims: Candy cane syndrome (CCS) refers to patients with a long and symptomatic blind afferent roux limb (BARL) after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB). Revisional surgery is efficacious but can be cost prohibitive.

Patients And Methods: We describe endoscopic blind limb reduction (EBLR), that converts the BARL into a "common channel" and eliminates food pooling, thereby improving symptoms.

Post-surgical leaks following surgical repair of acute duodenal perforations carry high mortality. Reversible endoscopic gastroduodenal bypass (REGB) is a novel procedure that helps divert the acid-rich gastric stream away from the affected duodenum to promote tissue healing at the ulcer site.REGB is a single-session, two-step procedure involving the creation of an endoscopic ultrasound-guided gastrojejunostomy using a lumen-apposing metal stent, followed by endosuturing and closure of the pylorus to achieve complete duodenal bypass.

Alterations to interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) and collagen fibrosis have been implicated in the pathogenesis of gastroparesis. We aimed to evaluate the feasibility and safety of pyloric muscle sampling during gastric peroral endoscopic myotomy (G-POEM) and the association between pyloric ICC density and degree of fibrosis with clinical outcomes. Endoscopic weight loss procedures have gained traction as minimally invasive options for the primary treatment of obesity. Thus far, we have developed endoscopic procedures that reliably address gastric restriction but result in significantly less weight loss than surgical gastrointestinal bypass.
