Femtosecond Laser Flap-in-Flap Technique for Correction of Post-LASIK Myopic Regression.

Purpose: To discuss the technique and outcome of what the authors called the "flap-in-flap" technique and report its safety as a procedure for correction of post-laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) myopic regression.

Methods: Seven eyes of 4 patients were included in this study. All patients had previously undergone LASIK for compound myopic astigmatism using the Moria M2 micro-keratome (Moria) 8 to 12 years prior to presentation.

Functional optical zone after wavefront-optimized versus wavefront-guided laser in situ keratomileusis.

Background: Many studies have used functional optical zone (FOZ) as a measure to compare different refractive laser treatment modalities. However, to our knowledge, no study has compared wavefront- optimized (WFO) and wavefront-guided (WFG) laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) using FOZ. We compared the FOZ after WFO versus WFG LASIK in patients with myopia and myopic astigmatism.

Correlation between ocular biometric parameters and corneal endothelium in a sample of young Egyptian adults.

Background: To evaluate the normative values of corneal endothelial cell parameters within a group of healthy young Egyptian adults using specular microscopy and to examine any correlations between endothelial parameters and refractive or biometric parameters.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, specular microscopy was used to study the right eyes of 150 healthy young volunteers and evaluated endothelial cell parameters, including cellular density, hexagonality (HEX), and coefficient of variation (CV) at 15 different points on the back corneal surface, which were later grouped into the central zone and either four quadrants or three annular zones. The same eyes underwent refractive and biometric assessments.

Pattern of Retinal Vasculitis in an Egyptian Cohort.

To describe the clinical experience with retinal vasculitis at 4 Egyptian tertiary eye centers. : A multicenter retrospective chart review of all patients with retinal vasculitis encountered at 4 ocular inflammation referral clinics in Egypt between February 2013 and February 2018. : The study included 618 patients (327 males and 291 females).

Pattern of Scleritis in an Egyptian Cohort.

: To report the clinical experience with scleritis at four Egyptian tertiary care eye centers. : Multicenter retrospective chart review of all patients with scleritis visiting four ocular inflammation referral clinics in Egypt between January 2013 and October 2017. : A total of 303 scleritis patients were enrolled.
