Lactobacillus helveticus is a probiotic bacterium widely used in the food industry. In this study, we evaluate the safety and probiotic properties of L. helveticus strain KM7, isolated from the gut of Apis cerana, through whole-genome sequencing and in vitro experiments.

Limosilactobacillus reuteri is recognized as a GRAS organism and has been extensively applied in food, pharmaceutical, and feed industries. This study systematically investigated the probiotic properties and safety of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-producing L. reuteri LP4, a strain isolated from the intestinal tract of adult Apis cerana, through comprehensive phenotypic assays and whole-genome sequencing.

While the health benefits of lactic acid bacteria (LAB)-fermented feed on farmed animals are well-established, its potential benefits for honeybees, specifically , remain largely unexplored. The present study aimed to optimize an enzymatic hydrolysis process for tea bee pollen, employing a complex enzyme comprising acid cellulase and pectinase, followed by fermentation with LP4. workers were subsequently fed tea bee pollen processed with this optimized method.

Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) has been shown to improve gut dysbiosis in dogs; however, it has not completely been understood in police dogs. This study aimed to investigate the effects of FMT on performance and gut microflora in Kunming police dogs. Twenty Wolf Cyan dogs were randomly assigned to receive physiological saline or fecal suspension at low, medium, or high doses through oral gavage for 14 days.

Survival rate, gut microbiota, and gene expression of gut antimicrobial peptides in worker honey bees were determined.

This study aimed to investigate the probiotic potential of gut indigenous lactic acid bacteria (LAB) originated from Apis cerana. Six Limosilactobacillus reuteri and one Lactobacillus helveticus were isolated from gut samples of A. cerana adult worker bee.

Four prebiotics, inulin, fructo-oligosaccharides, xylo-oligosaccharides, and isomalto-oligosaccharides were chosen, and glucose served as the carbon source. Supplementation of this four prebiotics increased numbers of and lactic acid bacteria while decreasing the pH value of fermentation broth inoculated with gut microbiota compared to glucose.
