Background: Inborn errors of immunity (IEIs) are a group of congenital diseases caused by genetic defects in the development and function of the immune system. The involvement of the respiratory tract is one of the most common presentations in IEIs.

Methods: Overall, 117 patients with diagnosed IEIs were followed-up within 8 years at the National Research Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases (NRITLD).

Relationship between spirometry results and colonisation of Aspergillus species in allergic asthma.

Introduction And Objectives: Exposure to fungi in patients with asthma leads to the release of various fungal antigens, which can increase the severity of asthma. Regarding this, the present study was conducted to evaluate the relationship between the colonisation of Aspergillus species and spirometry results in allergic asthma.

Materials And Methods: Two hundred sixteen patients with mild to severe asthma and 30 healthy controls were included.

Case report: portal hypertension secondary to isolated liver tuberculosis.

In this report, we present a case of isolated liver tuberculosis (TB) as a cause of non-cirrhotic portal hypertension leading to bleeding esophageal varices. Although TB has been known to cause portal hypertension in a variety of ways, this case was notable for the presence of periportal inflammation and granulomas, also seen in hepatic schistosomiasis. Herein, we discuss isolated liver TB and the differential diagnosis of non-cirrhotic portal hypertension.

Metaplastic thymoma: report of an unusual thymic epithelial neoplasm arising in the wall of a thymic cyst.

In this report, a case of metaplastic thymoma arising in a thymic cyst wall is discussed. The patient was a 61-year-old male whose chief complaint was sweating and chest pain. Imaging study revealed a mediastinal mass with right hemithoracic extension.
