While gastrointestinal and vaginal microbiota in UF patients have been moderately explored, this study uniquely examines endometrial microbiota in women with UFs. Aim of this study was to investigate the microbiota composition in the uterine cavity, cervix and stool using 16S rRNA bacterial gene sequencing, alongside the concentration of bacterial metabolites in stool samples, comparing women with UFs to a control group.

Background: Symbiotic gut microbiota can enhance cancer therapy efficacy, while treatment-induced dysbiosis may reduce effectiveness or increase toxicity. Our preclinical study compared the anticancer effects and impact on fecal microbiota and metabolites of two water-soluble SN-38 derivatives (BN-MePPR and BN-MOA), with those observed after treatment with Irinotecan, and the FOLFOX regimen in NOD scid gamma mice bearing patient-derived colon adenocarcinoma xenografts (CRC PDX).
Methods: Five individual experiments with Irinotecan and its derivatives and eight individual experiments with FOLFOX were conducted using eight CRC PDX models.
Background: The mitochondrial amidoxime-reducing component-2 (Mtarc) enzyme complex is located on the outer mitochondrial membrane and may be involved in lipid metabolism regulation.
Aim: This study evaluated the impact of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) on phenotypic outcomes, liver accumulation of fatty acids (FAs), and modifications to the gut microbial community, as well as the abundance of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and amino acids (AAs), in both sexes of Mtarc2 knockout (Mtarc2-KO) and C57BL/6 N mice fed a Western Diet (WD).
Methodology: Mice were fed a WD (study groups) or normal diet (control groups) and were subjected to intestinal flushing with either a polyethylene glycol (PEG) solution (study groups) or water (control groups); this was followed by intragastrical administration of a human feces suspension (study groups) or water (control groups).

High-grade B-cell lymphoma with 11q aberration (HGBCL-11q) is a rare germi-nal centre lymphoma characterised by a typical gain/loss pattern on chromo-some 11q but without MYC translocation. Here, we used whole-genome shotgun sequencing (WGS) and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) to conduct metagenomic and metabolomic analyses to identify common and distinct taxonomic configurations among 40, 45, 71, 34, 50, 60, and 40 patients with colorectal cancer, stomach cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, melanoma, lymphoid neoplasms and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), respectively, and compared the data with those from sex- and age-matched healthy controls (HC). α-diversity differed only between the lymphoid neoplasm and AML groups and their respective HC, while β-diversity differed between all groups and their HC.

Methods: A total of 48 mice on a normal diet (ND) and 48 on a Western diet (WD) were divided into subgroups with or without 5% SDexF supplementation for 28 weeks. In a human study, 100 overweight/obese children were randomly assigned to prebiotic and control groups, consuming fruit and vegetable mousse with or without 10 g of SDexF for 24 weeks.

Aims: This study aimed to assess the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) microbiome and metabolome of adults with type 1 diabetes (T1D) treated with continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII).
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, the GCF of adults with T1D treated with CSII and non-diabetic controls were sampled, and metagenomic/metabolomic analyses were performed.

This study employed whole genome sequencing of mitochondrial DNA to identify genetic variants potentially associated with the development of PCOS and HT and predisposing to their joint occurrence.

Introduction: Low diversity gut dysbiosis can take different forms depending on the disease context. In this study, we used shotgun metagenomic sequencing and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to compared the metagenomic and metabolomic profiles of diarrheal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients and defined the additive effect of infection (CDI) on intestinal dysbiosis.
Results: The study cohort consisted of 138 case-mix cancer patients, 43 IBD patients, and 45 healthy control individuals.

Here, we show that mammalian ESCRT-I restricts the size of lysosomes and promotes degradation of proteins from lysosomal membranes, including MCOLN1, a Ca channel protein.
