Background: Because of their aggressive nature and limited treatment options, soft tissue sarcomas present a significant challenge for patients. Isolated limb perfusion with tumor necrosis factor α and melphalan (TM-ILP) has emerged as a promising modality against soft tissue sarcomas aimed at downstaging tumors with significant local invasion, offering a localized approach to deliver high doses of chemotherapy directly to the affected limb while minimizing systemic toxicity. Mitochondrially targeted anticancer drugs (mitocans) that disrupt the energy-producing systems of cancer are emerging as new potential therapeutics. Mitochondrially targeted tamoxifen (MitoTam), an inhibitor of mitochondrial respiration respiratory complex I, is a first-in-class mitocan that was tested in the phase I/Ib MitoTam-01 trial of patients with metastatic cancer. MitoTam exhibited a manageable safety profile and efficacy; among 37% (14/38) of responders, the efficacy was greatest in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with a clinical benefit rate of 83% (5/6) of patients.

We report a rare case of primary nodal, poorly differentiated endometrioid carcinoma associated with Lynch syndrome. A 29-year-old female patient was referred by her general gynecologist for further imaging with suspected right-sided ovarian endometrioid cyst. Ultrasound examination by an expert gynecological sonographer at tertiary center revealed unremarkable findings in the abdomen and pelvis apart from three iliac lymph nodes showing signs of malignant infiltration in the right obturator fossa and two lesions in the 4b segment of the liver.
