Lymphocytic Panhypophysitis Resulting in Panhypopituitarism in a Dog.

A 3 yr old intact male Doberman pinscher was referred with chronic diarrhea, severe polyuria-polydipsia, and behavioral changes for 2 wk. Biochemical abnormalities were consistent with central diabetes insipidus, hypothyroidism, and hypoadrenocorticism. Brain MRI and cerebrospinal fluid analysis raised suspicion for lymphocytic hypophysitis and meningitis, later confirmed histologically.

Context: Homeless individuals face exacerbated risks of infectious diseases, including sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Programs led by Community Health Workers (CHWs) have demonstrated potential to enhance healthcare access for marginalized groups such as homeless families. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of a novel CHW-based outreach program addressing sexual health issues among individuals residing in homeless hostels.

Penicillium and Talaromyces spp. are environmental saprophytic molds rarely encountered as infectious agents in humans and animals. This article summarizes the clinical features, treatment, and outcomes of proven infections caused by Penicillium or Talaromyces in four dogs in France.
