Although prediction models can estimate disease risk, they typically do not account for the downstream health or cost consequences of acting on their predictions. We developed and evaluated methods that integrate risk prediction with decision modeling to inform personalized, cost-effective treatment recommendations.

Background: The combined efficacy and durability of botulinum toxin A (BTX) and hyaluronic acid fillers (HA) for canthal wrinkles have not been thoroughly evaluated in randomized clinical trials.
Aims: This study evaluated the efficacy, safety, and durability of the combined treatment protocol of onabotulinumtoxinA and Juvederm Volite VYC-12 (Skinvive) for moderate and severe canthal lines.
Methods: This randomized double-blinded split-face trial included 25 women with periorbital dynamic wrinkles at severity levels II-IV according to the Merz 5-point scale.

This paper proposes a sample preparation method for the determination of major (Ca, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mg, Na, and Zn) and trace elements (As, Pb, and Se) in lignocellulosic biomass by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Major composition was determined directly after microwave-assisted digestion with dilute nitric acid, while trace elements were determined using dispersive magnetic solid-phase microextraction (DMSPE). For DMSPE, maghemite nanoparticles were synthesized using the alkaline hydrolysis coprecipitation method and characterized by high-performance scanning microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis.
