Percutaneous implantation of self-expanding pulmonary valves: results from real-life experience of the Venus-P valve Registry of the Italian Society of Pediatric Cardiology (SICPED).

Background: Self-expandable valves may have a significant impact on the feasibility of transcatheter treatments of RVOT dysfunction. Venus P valve is the first autoexpadable Valve that received CE mark in 2022. Here, we are reporting on a multicenter data collection about patients undergoing Venus P valve implantation in Italy.

Hypoattenuating Leaflet Thickening After Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve Implantation: An Urgent Call to Action.

The Venus P-Valve is a novel self-expanding prosthesis designed for transcatheter pulmonary valve implantation (TPVI) in patients with severe pulmonary regurgitation and dilated right ventricular outflow tracts. This case series assessed the incidence of subclinical leaflet thrombosis, defined as hypoattenuated leaflet thickening (HALT), and reduced leaflet motion 6 months after TPVI in 7 patients treated between January and April 2023. HALT was detected via computed tomography angiography in 71% of patients, primarily affecting the right cusp.

Unsealed Rhenium Resin Brachytherapy in Non-Surgical Candidates With Refractory Basal Cell Carcinoma: Clinical Outcomes.

Introduction: High-dose brachytherapy using a non-sealed Rhenium resin (Re) is a new treatment option for difficult-to-treat basal cell carcinoma (BCC) that ensures a radical oncological outcome minimizing side effects.

Objectives: The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of high-dose standardized brachytherapy using an unsealed Re in the management of difficult-to-treat BCCs and to evaluate the risk factors of relapses.

Methods: Between October 2017 and December 2022, patients affected by difficult-to-treat BCC were selected.
