Teratozoospermia, a qualitative sperm disorder characterized by abnormal sperm morphology, represents one of the causes of male infertility worldwide. The metabolic analysis of human seminal plasma (SP), can provide insights into the underlying molecular mechanisms of this condition, identifying novel biomarkers and facilitating the development of diagnostic tests. In this study, an untargeted High-Performance Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-MS) approach was performed to explore SP metabolic alterations associated with teratozoospermia.

Low temperature is the main strategy to preserve fruit quality post-harvest, in the supply chain. Low temperatures reduce the respiration, ethylene emission, and enzymatic activities associated with senescence. Unfortunately, peaches are sensitive to low temperatures if exposed for long periods, resulting in physiological disorders that can compromise commercial quality.

Unlabelled: Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) is a rare condition; late adult presentation is extremely rare but, with modern diagnostics, more asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic elderly patients with ALCAPA are found. A 76-year-old woman was admitted to our emergency department in December 2021 with fever, fatigue, cognitive-motor slowing, and hyposthenia of left hemisoma. Cranium computed tomography (CT) was performed, with no signs of stroke.

Purpose: American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association guidelines recommend high-intensity statin therapy and consideration for nonstatin therapy for patients with peripheral vascular disease (PVD); however, utilization rates remain suboptimal. The primary objective of this study was to determine whether pharmacist intervention for patients with PVD could improve the percentage of patients discharged on a high-intensity statin.

Methods: The study used a single-center pre/post design and included patients with PVD who underwent peripheral bypass during their admission.
