The aim of the work was to study the effect of additive concentration on changes in the adhesive and cohesive strength of bitumen. To evaluate the effectiveness of modifiers in the composition of binary and triple bitumen systems in relation to mineral fillers of two grades, the method of determination of the adhesive efficiency and thermodynamic calculations of adhesion and cohesion work were used. The following compounds were used as additives: synthesized from the oil refining waste and (waste sealing liquid).

The native conformation of a protein plays a decisive role in ensuring its functionality. It is established that the spatial structure of proteins may exhibit a greater degree of conservation than the corresponding amino acid sequences. This study aims to clarify structural distinctions between homologous and non-homologous proteins with identical topology.

The effect of additives concentration on the rheological characteristics and microstructure of binary "bitumen-surfactant", "bitumen-AG-4I", and ternary "bitumen-AG-4I-AG-4I" systems has been studied. To assess the effect of bitumen dispersion on the physical and mechanical characteristics of modified asphalt concrete samples, the compressive strength value was determined.

The cosine of the contact angle was used as a criterion for assessing the adhesion of the bitumen binder to the surface of crushed stone. The effect of the additives' concentration on surface tension and adhesive efficiency in binary and ternary bitumen compositions was studied.

The arguments are provided that of the Moscow therapeutic schools, it was the Shervinsky-Golubinin school, and not the Zakharyin or Ostroumov school, that played the most significant role in the formation of the internal medicine in the USSR, in passing the accumulated knowledge and ideas to therapeutic elites in the USSR.

Background: Neurosurgery is the most effective treatment for acromegaly. As most of the patients present with macroadenomas, surgical treatment is not always successful, even with the expert level of a neurosurgeon. Assessment of the postoperative remission rates in acromegaly preoperative predictors of treatment efficacy is an urgent task of modern research.

One of the methods of delaying radical intervention is ankle joint distraction arthroplasty of the ankle joint (ADA), including a combination of various techniques. The lack of publications summarizing the maximum possible clinical data on ADA for more than 50 years of the method's history justifies the need for a review.

In this paper, we propose and use a new approach for a relatively simple technique for conducting MD simulation (MDS) of various molecular nanostructures, determining the trajectory of the MD run and forming the final structure using external force actions. A molecular dynamics manipulator (MD manipulator) is a controlled MDS type. As an example, the applicability of the developed algorithm for assembling peptide nanotubes (PNT) from linear phenylalanine (F or Phe) chains of different chirality is presented.

The possibility of using polyether siloxane copolymer (PC) and sodium polyacrylate (NaPA) in paint and varnish compositions as modifying additives of the dispersing effect is proved. The correlation between the dispersing effect of surfactants and the amount of their adsorption on the pigment is proved.

Background: For the last decades microRNAs (miR) have proven themselves as novel biomarkers for various types of diseases. Identification of specific circulating microRNA panel that differ patient with Cushing's disease (CD) and ectopic ACTH syndrome (EAS) could improve the diagnostic procedure.
Aim: to evaluate the differences in miR levels in plasma samples drained from inferior petrosal sinuses in patients with CD and EAS.

In this study we consider the features of spatial-structure formation in proteins and their application in bioengineering. Methods for the quantitative assessment of the chirality of regular helical and irregular structures of proteins are presented. The features of self-assembly of phenylalanine (F) into peptide nanotubes (PNT), which form helices of different chirality, are also analyzed.

The chirality quantification is of great importance in structural biology, where the differences in proteins twisting can provide essentially different physiological effects. However, this aspect of the chirality is still poorly studied for helix-like supramolecular structures. In this work, a method for chirality quantification based on the calculation of scalar triple products of dipole moments is suggested.

Adult growth hormone (GH) deficiency (AGHD) is a condition characterized by alterations in body composition, lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, bone mineral density and poor quality of life; however, clinical presentations of AGHD are mostly non-specific. Untreated AGHD is associated with increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Stimulation tests are used for the diagnosis: insulin tolerance test, glucagon stimulation test, growth-hormone releasing hormone and arginine stimulation test.

The relevance of this research is due to the wide prevalence of addictive behavior and the insufficient knowledge of the coping strategies of patients and their families. The purpose of this research was to investigate the resource factors and coping strategies of adults with alcohol-addicted parents and to make recommendations for psychological counseling for these people. The sample consisted of 52 subjects-who were participants in a twelve-step rehabilitation program for adult people whose parents had alcohol addictions-and 50 controls.

A model resulting in charge ordering (CO) similar to that observed in cuprate superconductors is under study. It includes strong long-range electron-phonon interaction (EPI) and high density of correlated carriers. Coexistence of large bipolarons and delocalized carriers is a feature of such system.

Objective: To evaluate the response of bone to chronic long-term growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF1) excess by measuring the expression of selected mRNA and microRNA (miR) in bone tissue samples of patients with active acromegaly.
Design: Case-control study.
Methods: Bone tissue samples were obtained during transsphenoidal adenomectomy from the sphenoid bone (sella turcica) from 14 patients with clinically and biochemically confirmed acromegaly and 10 patients with clinically non-functioning pituitary adenoma (NFPA) matched by sex and age.
Experiment and modeling show that the refractive index nonlinearity can significantly degrade the contrast of a chirped-pulse amplifier seeded with a pulse and a single postpulse. Multiple powerful non-equidistant pre- and postpulses are generated. For a Gaussian pulse and a hat-top beam, an incident postpulse of energy W results in a prepulse of energy 0.
