β2-adrenoreceptors control human skin microvascular reactivity.

Topical α1- and α2-adrenoreceptor (ADRA1 and 2) agonists are effective in alleviating permanent vasodilation and facial erythema associated with rosacea by inducing skin vasoconstriction. Although β-adrenoreceptor (ADRB) antagonists are used off-label for rosacea, pharmacological and pharmacodynamic data pertaining to these receptors in skin micro-vessels are lacking. Objectives: To analyse the expression of different adrenergic receptors and their contribution to vasoreactivity in skin micro-vessels.

Transdiscal C6-C7 contralateral C7 nerve root transfer in the surgical repair of brachial plexus avulsion injuries.

Background: Repair of complete brachial plexus avulsion injuries may require contralateral C7 nerve root transfer. The available techniques might allow direct neuroraphy in about 50 % of cases but the others require interposing nerve grafts or humeral shaft shortening. We aimed to see if transdiscal C6-C7 contralateral C7 nerve root transfer is technically feasible and if it allows direct coaptation with the contralateral nerve roots in 100 % of cases.

Viability of anastomoses with coupler in extra-intracranial bypass: cadaveric study.

Background: The time required to perform an anastomosis in extra-intracranial bypass is approximately 20 to 60 minutes. The search for alternative methods to reduce the ischemic time remains vital.
