Boat noise has been shown to distract and cause harm to many marine organisms. Most of the study effort has focused on fish & marine mammals, even though invertebrates represent over 92 % of all marine life. The few studies conducted on invertebrates have demonstrated clear negative effects of anthropogenic noise pollution.

The gut experiences daily fluctuations in microbes and nutrients aligned with circadian rhythms that regulate nutrient absorption and immune function. Group 3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3s) support gut homeostasis through interleukin-22 (IL-22) but can convert into interferon-γ-producing ILC1s. How circadian proteins control this plasticity remains unclear.

Determinants of successful AAV-vectored delivery of HIV-1 bNAbs in early life.

Despite advances in HIV-1 prophylaxis, vertical transmission remains a pressing problem in developing countries. Given the promise of broadly neutralizing antibodies (bNAbs) for HIV-1 prevention, we hypothesized that neonatal delivery of bNAbs using adeno-associated virus (AAV) could provide durable HIV-1 immunity during infancy. Here, using infant rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) as a model, we show that a one-time administration of an AAV vector encoding bNAb 3BNC117 at birth led to sustained bNAb expression for more than three years without redosing.

"It Can Be Quite Daunting": Promoting Mental Health Service Use for Vulnerable Young People.

: Today, young people face a variety of social, environmental and psychological challenges, making them more vulnerable to developing mental health issues. Worldwide 15% of adolescents experience poor mental health, with the majority not seeking help or receiving care. Therefore, it is critical that youth mental health services become more youth-friendly to encourage help-seeking.

Experiences of women with type 2 diabetes during the pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and postpartum periods: A systematic review of qualitative studies.

Aim: To explore the experiences of women with type 2 diabetes prior to, during and after pregnancy.

Methods: Six databases were systematically searched in September 2023. Qualitative studies involving women of childbearing age living with type 2 diabetes in the pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and postpartum periods were included.
