Evidence-based implementation of lifestyle medicine in healthcare practice: a research agenda.

In recent years, significant insights have been gathered into the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions in the treatment of chronic non-communicable diseases (NCD). To speed up the implementation of evidence-based lifestyle medicine, we developed a research agenda in collaboration with Dutch experts in treating NCD, using a hybrid Delphi approach. The research agenda focuses on four key themes: (1) promoting sustainable behavioural change at patient, healthcare professional and organisational levels; (2) optimising research designs, methodology and outcomes for the evaluation of effectiveness and implementation of lifestyle medicine modalities in healthcare practice; (3) elucidating biological mechanisms underlying successful lifestyle interventions and (4) advancing data infrastructure to ensure accessible data for citizens, healthcare professionals, researchers and health insurers for monitoring and evaluation of health and lifestyle outcomes.

Preconception carrier screening in couples seeking IVF: exploring the patient perspective.

Research Question: What is the level of understanding, and what are the attitudes and considerations regarding preconception carrier screening (PCS) among couples seeking IVF or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)?

Design: A mixed-methods design was used. Nine interviews were conducted with couples or individual partners (n = 16) who had an initial consultation for IVF/ICSI in the 2 years preceding this study. A questionnaire was completed by 115 participants.

Considerations of breast cancer survivors to return for embryo transfer after fertility preservation: A qualitative study.

Objective: To gain insight into the considerations of breast cancer survivors to return or not for embryo transfer after the use of fertility preservation.

Study Design: This is a qualitative study with semi-structured interviews. The interviews were planned until saturation of themes had been achieved.

The effects of an online decision aid to support the reproductive decision-making process of genetically at risk couples-A pilot study.

Couples at risk of transmitting a genetic disease to their offspring may experience doubts about their reproductive options. This study examines the effects of an online decision aid (DA) on the (joint) reproductive decision-making process of couples (not pregnant at time of inclusion) at risk of transmitting a genetic disease to their offspring. The primary outcome is decisional conflict, and secondary outcomes are knowledge, realistic expectations, deliberation, joint informed decision-making, and decisional self-efficacy.

The modified Manchester Fothergill procedure compared with vaginal hysterectomy with low uterosacral ligament suspension in patients with pelvic organ prolapse: long-term outcome.

Introduction And Hypothesis: The objective of this study was to compare the long-term outcome between vaginal hysterectomy with low uterosacral ligament suspension (VH) and the modified Manchester Fothergill procedure (MF) as surgical treatment in patients with pelvic organ prolapse (POP). We hypothesize that MF is non-inferior to VH in the long term.

Methods: In this single-center retrospective cohort study patients who underwent MF or VH for primary apical compartment prolapse between 2003 and 2009 were eligible for inclusion.
