Background: The relevant time frame for predicting future acute coronary syndrome (ACS) based on coronary lesion characteristics remains uncertain.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the association of lesion characteristics with test-to-event time and their prognostic impact on ACS.

Methods: The EMERALD II (Exploring the Mechanism of Plaque Rupture in Acute Coronary Syndrome Using Coronary CT Angiography and Computational Fluid Dynamics II) study analyzed 351 patients who underwent coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) and experienced ACS between 1 month and 3 years of follow-up.

Background: The optimal duration of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) after complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) remains unclear. We aim to investigate the efficacy and safety of 3 to 6 months of DAPT over 12 months after complex PCI.

Methods: A post hoc analysis of the HOST-IDEA (Harmonizing Optimal Strategy for Treatment of Coronary Artery Stenosis-Coronary Intervention With Next-Generation Drug-Eluting Stent Platforms and Abbreviated Dual Antiplatelet Therapy) randomized trial which enrolled patients undergoing PCI with third-generation drug-eluting stents was performed.

Article Synopsis
  • A study was conducted to improve the prediction of which coronary artery lesions could lead to acute coronary syndrome (ACS) by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) with traditional methods.
  • The research focused on patients who had undergone coronary CT angiography (CTA) before experiencing an ACS event, analyzing both culprit (problematic) and nonculprit lesions.
  • The new model incorporating AI features showed significantly better predictability for identifying high-risk lesions compared to standard methods, suggesting that AI can enhance cardiac risk assessment.

Backgrounds: The HOST-EXAM Extended study reported the benefit of clopidogrel monotherapy over aspirin monotherapy in secondary prevention after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This age-specific subgroup analysis of the study aimed to assess the impact of age on antiplatelet monotherapy after PCI.

Methods: We analysed data from the per-protocol population (4717 patients) with a median follow-up of 5.

The aim of this study is construction of a pathologic nomogram that can predict axillary lymph node metastasis (LNM) for each intrinsic subtype of breast cancer with regard to histologic characteristics in breast core needle biopsy (CNB) for use in routine practice. A total of 534 CNBs with invasive ductal carcinoma classified into 5 intrinsic subtypes were enrolled. Eighteen clinicopathological characteristics and 8 molecular markers used in CNB were evaluated for construction of the best predictive model of LNM.
