Article Synopsis
  • Genetic screening for BRCA mutations can help identify effective treatments for breast, ovarian, and pancreatic cancers, with a focus on the role of olaparib, a PARP inhibitor, in targeting tumors with these mutations.
  • A bibliometric analysis of 196 research publications from 2009 to 2022 revealed current trends and global cooperation in the use of olaparib for pancreatic cancer treatment, highlighting notable contributors and key research areas.
  • Results show that leading countries like China and the USA are at the forefront of olaparib research, suggesting the need for combination therapies and the emergence of new PARP inhibitors in future treatment strategies.

Article Synopsis
  • Epidemiological studies indicate a link between psoriasis and aortic valve stenosis (AS), but the nature of this relationship is not fully understood, prompting a study using Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to investigate.
  • A two-sample MR analysis was performed with data from genome-wide association studies (GWAS), identifying genetic factors and gene networks that may connect psoriasis to AS, resulting in 15 key hub genes being recognized.
  • The findings suggest a significant causal relationship, with individuals genetically predisposed to psoriasis having a higher risk of AS, and highlight the role of immune-related pathways and gene expression in the progression of both conditions.

Phosphodiesterases are essential regulators of cyclic nucleotide signaling with diverse physiological functions. Two phosphodiesterases, PdeH and PdeL, have been identified from yeast and filamentous fungi. Here, the orthologs of PdeH and PdeL were characterized in a typical nematode-trapping fungus by gene disruption and phenotypic comparison.

Ssk1, a response regulator of the two-component signaling system, plays an important role in the cellular response to hyperosmotic stress in fungi. Herein, an ortholog of () was characterized in the nematode-trapping fungus using gene disruption and multi-phenotypic comparison. The deletion of resulted in defective growth, deformed and swollen hyphal cells, an increased hyphal septum, and a shrunken nucleus.

Under the competitive market environment, the game between manufacturers comes down to the competitive multiattribute group decision-making problem. In this study, the evaluation information of experts is given in the form of 2-dimension 2-tuple linguistic variables, and an approach is proposed for the competitive multiattribute group decision-making problem based on game theory and evidence theory. Firstly, based on the evidence theory, the attribute values of each situation are obtained by aggregating the 2-dimension 2-tuple linguistic evaluation information given by experts.
