An Unusual Case of Psoriatic Arthritis With Peliosis Hepatis.

Peliosis hepatis is a rare condition characterized by dilation of the hepatic sinusoids and the presence of multiple blood-filled cystic spaces within the liver parenchyma. It has been associated with a variety of etiologies, including infectious diseases, immunological disorders, malignancy, and certain medications. We report a case of a 24-year-old male who presented with polyarthritis lasting two months.

Poncet's Disease: A Case-Based Review.

Poncet's disease (PD) is defined by the presence of reactive aseptic oligo or polyarthritis affecting the large joints associated with active pulmonary or extrapulmonary tuberculosis (TB). Its pathogenesis is unknown. It is rare and remains a diagnosis of exclusion.

Dietary Recommendations from the Moroccan Society for Rheumatology (SMR) for Patients with Chronic Inflammatory Rheumatic Diseases.

This work was conducted under the auspices of the Moroccan Society of Rheumatology (SMR) with the aim of developing best practice medical guidelines for the dietary management of patients with Chronic Inflammatory Rheumatic Diseases (IRDs). A working group composed of rheumatology experts and two nutritionists was formed. This group relied on a synthesis of the literature and expert opinions.

Psoriasis still has an unknown etiology. Genetic predisposition shows the association between HLA-Cw6 allele and psoriasis. Although biotherapies have been proven effective in psoriasis treatment, methotrexate (MTX) is still used as a first-line systemic therapy due to its efficacy/affordability, but the differential response to MTX is mostly related to interindividual genetic variability and remains an issue.

Active tuberculosis infection in moroccan patients with rheumatic diseases under biologic therapy: A multicenter national study.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of active tuberculosis (TB) infection in Moroccan patients with rheumatic diseases under biologic therapy, and to describe the demographic characteristics of these patients as well as to explore potential risk factors.

Methods: This 14-year nationally representative multicenter study enrolled Moroccan patients with rheumatic diseases who had been treated with biologic therapy. Patient medical records were reviewed retrospectively for demographic characteristics, underlying rheumatic diseases, associated comorbidities, and TB-related data.

Zoledronic acid, an amino-bisphosphonate, is an antiresorptive drug given intravenously. It is commonly used for the treatment of severe postmenopausal osteoporosis, and it is also used for other types of osteoporosis, management of bone metastasis, multiple myeloma, hypercalcemia, and Paget's disease. The use varies according to these diseases.

Spondyloarthritis in North Africa: an update.

Spondyloarthritis (SpA) has been less well studied than rheumatoid arthritis in North Africa, due to a belief that it is rare and benign in certain populations. The main genetic trait of SpA is its association with human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-B27. The distribution of this allele largely explains the prevalence and severity of SpA.

Bilateral patellar tendon rupture on lupus undergoing corticosteroids: a case report.

Background: Patellar tendon rupture is a rare condition, especially when it is bilateral. The most frequent associated pathologies are systemic lupus erythematosus, chronic renal failure, or treatments like corticosteroids. The aim of this case report is to draw attention to the non-specific clinical aspect of this condition, to recall its radiological signs, and highlight the diagnostic contribution of musculoskeletal ultrasound.

Aseptic necrosis of the femoral head after pregnancy: a case report.

A documented case of beginning aseptic necrosis of the femoral head associated with pregnancy together with a review of the literature about this rare complication of pregnancy is presented. The known risk factors of osteonecrosis are; steroid use, alcoholism, organ transplantation, especially after kidney transplant or bone marrow transplantation bone, systemic lupus erythematosus, dyslipidemia especially hypertriglyceridemia, dysbaric decompression sickness, drepanocytosis and Gaucher's disease. Among the less established factors, we mention procoagulations abnormalities, HIV infection, chemotherapy.
