AI-based decoding of long covid cognitive impairments in mice using automated behavioral system and comparative transcriptomic analysis.

Long COVID (LC) following SARS-CoV-2 infection affects millions of individuals world-wide and manifests with a variety of symptoms including cognitive dysfunction also known as "brain fog". This is characterized by difficulties in executive functions, planning, decision-making, working memory, impairments in complex attention, loss of ability to learn new skills and perform sophisticated brain tasks. No effective treatment options currently exist for LC-related cognitive dysfunction.

Zinc as an Adjuvant Therapy in Acute Severe Pneumonia in Children Aged Two Months to Two Years: A Double-Blind Randomized Controlled Trial.

Introduction: The study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of zinc supplementation, in addition to standard antimicrobial therapy, in the treatment of severe pneumonia among hospitalized rural Indian children aged 2-24 months. It also sought to identify factors associated with the development of pneumonia in this population.

Methodology: A hospital-based, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial was conducted from September to December 2022, registered with the Clinical Trial Registry of India (CTRI/2022/09/046070).

We report a 35-year-male with orbitofrontal lobar dysfunction, spastic paraparesis, cerebellar ataxia and characteristic perioral and palatal tremor with dentate nuclei calcification in imaging.
