Reaction of deep-red [K(18-crown-6)(THF)][CPh] with excess CS in THF results in rapid formation of the dithiocarboxylate, [K(18-crown-6)][SCCPh] (). Oxidation of with 0.5 equiv of I results in formation of the thiocarbonyl disulfide, PhCC(S)SS(S)CCPh (), whereas reaction of with 1 equiv of PhCCl in MeCN results in deposition of the dithiocarboxylate ester, PhCC(S)SCPh ().

Exploring Spin-Orbit Effects in a [CuTl] Nanocluster Featuring an Uncommon Tl-H Interaction.

Reaction of [CuH(PPh)] with 1 equiv. of Tl(OTf) results in formation of [CuTlH(PPh)][OTf] ([1]OTf]), which can be isolated in good yields. Variable-temperature H NMR spectroscopy, in combination with density functional theory (DFT) calculations, confirms the presence of a rare Tl-H orbital interaction.
