Background: The use of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (rTSA) has increased in recent years, thanks to its application versatility. Despite this increase, there exists a significant variability in postoperative functional internal rotation (fIR), affecting patients' daily life independence. Previous literature investigated patient-related, kinematical, and surgical parameters to understand the variability in fIR outcome.

The system leverages shear wave tensiometry, which is a new approach for assessing tendon load by tracking wave speed within the tissue. Our wearable tensiometry system uses a battery-operated piezoelectric actuator to induce micron-scale shear waves in a tendon.

Sub-threshold vibratory noise applied to the Achilles tendons has proven to enhance ankle proprioception through the phenomenon of stochastic resonance. Our purpose was to compare visuomotor entrainment during walking and standing, and to understand how this entrainment might be attenuated by applying sub-threshold vibratory noise over the Achilles tendons.
