Background: Acute stroke care has evolved markedly in recent decades, yet long-term trends across stroke subtypes remain understudied. This study analyzed national trends in inpatient stroke care for ischemic stroke (IS), intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) in Germany from 2000 to 2021.

Background: Retinal vasculopathy with cerebral leukoencephalopathy and systemic manifestations (RVCL-S) is an ultra-rare, autosomal-dominant small vessel disease caused by loss-of-function variants in the gene TREX1. Recently, elevated serum levels of von Willebrand Factor Antigen (vWF-Ag) pointed to an underlying endotheliopathy, and microvascular ischemia was suggested to contribute to the neurodegeneration in RVCL-S. Background: Clinical observations indicated that vaccine-induced immune thrombosis with thrombocytopenia (VITT)-associated cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) often has a space-occupying effect and thus necessitates decompressive surgery (DS). While comparing with non-VITT CVST, this study explored whether VITT-associated CVST exhibits a more fulminant clinical course, different perioperative and intensive care unit management, and worse long-term outcome.

Objective: Degeneration of nuclei of the brainstem, especially parts of the vagal nuclei complex and the reticular formation, in Parkinson's disease (PD) may in part be responsible for nonmotor signs like obstipation, cardiac dysfunction and rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (RBD). The aim of the study was to establish a new blink reflex (BR) variant involving the vagal nuclei complex and the reticular formation and to investigate BR comprehensively using 3 different afferent routes in PD.
