Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between blepharoptosis (ptosis) and the prevalence of mental health disorders in adults, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, and substance use/addictive disorders.

Methods: Cross-sectional study using data from the National Institutes of Health's All of Us Research Program. The study included 4,411 adults diagnosed with ptosis and 4,411 propensity score-matched controls, matched by age, sex, race, education, and income.

Introduction: Existing studies mostly focus on the separate impacts of diabetes distress, depression, and anxiety on glycemic control, leaving a gap in understanding their combined influence within primary care settings. This study aims to explore this interaction among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in Egyptian primary healthcare.

Methods: The study was conducted in rural primary healthcare settings in Egypt from September 2020 to June 2021, included 354 patients with T2DM.

Background: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex lifelong neurodevelopmental disorder with a high and increasing global prevalence. Although the precise causes are unknown, both genetic and environmental factors, including maternal ones during pregnancy, significantly influence its development. Therefore, this study endeavors to explore the potential causes of autism, including maternal and paternal prenatal risk factors, as well as antenatal and natal maternal risk factors, and their associations with the severity of ASD in mothers of children with ASD, from February to May 2024.

We included any randomized control trials, prospective and retrospective cohorts, cross-sectional studies, and case-control studies that investigated the effect of metformin on age-related macular degeneration in our meta-analysis with no age or language restrictions.

Early oral feeding and its impact on postoperative outcomes in head and neck cancer surgery: a meta-analysis.

Background: Early oral feeding has been previously postulated to contribute to developing postoperative complications following head and neck reconstructive surgeries using free flaps. Prevalence and Correlates of Night Eating Syndrome, Insomnia, and Psychological Distress in Primary Care Patients with Obesity: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Introduction: Management of obesity is challenging for both patients and healthcare workers. Considering the low success rate of current interventions, this study aimed to explore the prevalence and associated factors of night eating syndrome (NES), insomnia, and psychological distress among individuals with obesity in order to plan comprehensive obesity management interventions.

Acute respiratory failure (ARF) strikes an estimated two million people in the United States each year, with care exceeding US$50 billion. The hallmark of ARF is a heterogeneous injury, with normal tissue intermingled with a large volume of low compliance and collapsed tissue. Mechanical ventilation is necessary to oxygenate and ventilate patients with ARF, but if set inappropriately, it can cause an unintended ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI).

Effect of ondansetron compared to lidocaine and placebo for reducing propofol injection pain: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Accordingly, our study aimed to assess the association between anxiety and IBS symptomatology among Egyptian females. Three hundred eighty-three females (145 IBS and 238 controls) were included in the study, and data were obtained using structured predesigned questionnaires.

Otolaryngologic manifestations among MPOX patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Purpose: MPOX has numerous otolaryngologic presentations that have been recognized as clinically important, especially with the onset of the 2022 outbreak. However, how these features vary across region and outbreak have yet to be elucidated or supported by meta-analysis. The objective of this study is to identify the otolaryngologic manifestations of MPOX across previous and current outbreaks and among endemic and non-endemic regions.
