Standardizing early cerebral palsy detection in high-risk infants: reducing age at diagnosis through a quality improvement initiative.

Objective: To screen high-risk infants for CP in a level IV NICU and high-risk infant follow-up (HRIF) clinic.

Study Design: By using quality improvement methodology, we implemented the General Movement Assessment (GMA) and Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination (HINE) to screen for CP and lower age at diagnosis. Main balancing measures included no-show rates.

Background: Bilateral sagittal split osteotomy (BSSO) carries a high risk of neurosensory injury. Surgical simulation of BSSO may improve confidence, technical skills, and intuition, leading to improved intraoperative performance. We assessed the face and content validity of a novel three-dimensional (3D) printed mandible with soft tissue component for BSSO simulation.

Preliminary analysis of the metabolic and physical activity profiles of mice lacking the slc43a3-encoded equilibrative nucleobase transporter 1.

SLC43A3 encodes for a membrane transporter selective for purine nucleobases (equilibrative nucleoside transporter 1; ENBT1). Adenine, an endogenous substrate for ENBT1, plays an important role in many biochemical and physiological processes, including cellular energy metabolism. To investigate how the loss of ENBT1 impacts these processes, we generated a slc43a3-null (global; KO) mouse model.

A near telomere-to-telomere phased genome assembly and annotation for the Australian central bearded dragon Pogona vitticeps.

Background: The central bearded dragon (Pogona vitticeps) is widely distributed in central eastern Australia and adapts readily to captivity. Among other attributes, it is distinctive because it undergoes sex reversal from ZZ genotypic males to phenotypic females at high incubation temperatures. Here, we report an annotated near telomere-to-telomere phased assembly of the genome of a female ZW central bearded dragon.
