Anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC) is an aggressive and rare cancer with a poor prognosis, and traditional therapies have limited efficacy. This study investigates drug repositioning, focusing on auranofin, a gold-based drug originally used for rheumatoid arthritis, as a potential treatment for ATC. Auranofin was identified from an FDA-approved drug library and tested on two thyroid cancer cell lines, 8505C and FRO.

Objectives: Prostate cancer (PCa) survivors report poor physical functioning alongside negative psychological outcomes as they cope with treatment side effects and practical concerns after treatment completion. This study evaluated PROGRESS, a web-based intervention designed to improve adaptive coping among PCa survivors.

Methods: Localized PCa patients (N = 431) within one year of treatment completion were randomized to receive educational booklets or PROGRESS + educational booklets.

Background: The first aim of our study was to evaluate surgical decision-making by BRCA mutation carriers with breast cancer based on the timing of knowledge of their BRCA mutation status. The second aim was to evaluate breast cancer outcome following surgical treatment.

Methods: This was a retrospective study of 164 patients diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, tested for BRCA mutation, and treated with primary surgery between 2004 and 2015 at Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, Korea.

Background And Purpose: Currently available minimally invasive renal tumor-ablation procedures include cryotherapy, radiofrequency ablation, and microwave thermotherapy.
