Adenomyosis occurs when endometrial glands and stroma grow within the uterine myometrium. Adenomyosis, as a clinically impactful disease, causes significant pelvic pain and heavy menstrual bleeding. Adenomyosis remains understudied due to the paucity of translational research tools and model systems.
