This study investigated the effects and underlying mechanisms of vanillic acid(VA) against cardiac fibrosis(CF) induced by isoproterenol(ISO) in mice. Male C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into control group, VA group(100 mg·kg~(-1), ig), ISO group(10 mg·kg~(-1), sc), ISO + VA group(10 mg·kg~(-1), sc + 100 mg·kg~(-1), ig), ISO + dynamin-related protein 1(Drp1) inhibitor(Mdivi-1) group(10 mg·kg~(-1), sc + 50 mg·kg~(-1), ip), and ISO + VA + Mdivi-1 group(10 mg·kg~(-1), sc + 100 mg·kg~(-1), ig + 50 mg·kg~(-1), ip). The treatment groups received the corresponding medications once daily for 14 consecutive days.

A novel pN stage prediction model for resectable rectal adenocarcinoma based on preoperative MRI features and multiregional apparent diffusion coefficients.

Objective: To develop and validate a novel model based on preoperative MRI features and multiregional apparent diffusion coefficients (ADCs) to improve the prediction of pN stage in resectable rectal adenocarcinoma (RA).

Methods: Two hundred fifty-four consecutive patients (median age [interquartile range], 67 [56-74] years; 156 males) with resectable RA were retrospectively collected at two medical centers from January 2017 to December 2023 and were divided into the training (n = 139), internal validation (n = 60), and external validation (n = 55) sets. All patients underwent preoperative MRI scans.

Purpose: To develop a CT radiomics model to predict pathological complete response (pCR) of advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) toneoadjuvant chemotherapy using paclitaxel and cisplatin.

Materials And Methods: 326 consecutive patients with advanced ESCC from two hospitals undergoing baseline contrast-enhanced CT followed by neoadjuvant chemotherapy using paclitaxel and cisplatin were enrolled, including 115 patients achieving pCR and 211 patients without pCR. Of the 271 cases from 1st hospital, 188 and 83 cases were randomly allocated to the training and test cohorts, respectively.

Objective: To explore the cardioprotective effect and its mechanism of total saponins of Panacis Majoris Rhizoma in myocardial infarction (MI) rats.

Methods: The MI model rats induced by ligating anterior descending branch of coronary artery were randomly divided into four group:model group, total saponins of Panacis Majoris Rhizoma (100 and 200 mg/kg) groups and compound Danshen dripping pills group. The rats were orally administrated with drugs once a day for four weeks.
