The microRNAs (miRNAs) play an important role in the regulation of gene expression, influencing the outcome of many biological processes in insects. The introduction of miRNA into the insect body can lead to pest developmental abnormalities indicating that miRNAs are potential targets for pest control. In this study, we employed small RNA sequencing to characterise and analyse the expression of miRNAs in the sugarcane shoot borer Chilo infuscatellus (Snellen).

Plants have developed various resistance mechanisms against herbivorous insects through prolonged coevolution. Plant defence responses can be triggered by specific compounds present in insect saliva. Apyrase, a known enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP) into adenosine monophosphate (AMP) and inorganic phosphorus, has recently been identified in some herbivorous insects.

In the past decade, there has been a noticeable increase in prehospital services, numerous optimizing initiatives to improve patient prognosis, and the medical oversight model. Taiwan's current EMS system, including the dispatch system, out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patient management, time-sensitive critical illness in prehospital settings, and disaster response, has undergone significant improvements.
