Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a rare multisystemic neurocutaneous syndrome with a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations. We present a case of a 14-year-old adolescent female who presented with a history of facial angiofibromas since the age of 8 months. Physical examination was remarkable for multiple angiofibromas on the face, and other multiple cutaneous manifestations of TSC.

Rosai Dorfman disease (RDD) is a rare non-Langerhans histiocytic disorder, which belongs to the R group of the 2016 revised histiocytic classification. It's characterized by the accumulation of activated histiocytes in the sinusoids of lymph nodes and/or extranodal tissues. Herein, we report a 7-year-old female who was initially suspected to have a lymphoma but was later identified as having RDD.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Contrast-associated acute kidney injury (CAAKI) is defined as acute kidney injury (AKI) occurring within 72 hours of administration of contrast media (CM) and is linked to adverse outcomes including longer hospital stay, increased hospital mortality, and a higher risk of chronic kidney disease in later life. Risk factors for the development of CAAKI in the Zambian pediatric population have not been well studied.
Objectives: The objective of this study was to assess the burden of CAAKI, ascertain its risk factors, and describe short-term outcomes in hospitalized children at the University Teaching Hospitals (UTH) undergoing contrast-enhanced radiological investigations.
