Hypokalemic periodic paralysis is a hereditary or acquired temporary flaccid paralysis of skeletal muscles, affecting proximal musculature more than distal, as a result of hypokalemia. In this report, we describe a unique case of amphetamine-induced hypokalemic periodic paralysis that has only been described twice in the current literature. A 31-year-old male with a history of substance abuse presented with altered mental status and acute tetraparesis after inhalation of methamphetamine.

Background: Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) in malignancy is a global threat, causing significant mortality and economic burden. They share common risk factors, highlighting the urgency of addressing this critical issue.

Objective: This study analyzed demographic trends and disparities in mortality rates due to AMI in malignancy among adults aged 65 and older from 1999 to 2020.

Background: Atrial Fibrillation (AF) among patients with cancer is a significant health concern for older adults in the United States. This study analyzes trends and demographic disparities in mortality rates related to AF in patients with cancer aged 65+.

Methods: The CDC WONDER database was used to analyze Age-adjusted mortality rates (AAMRs) for to AF in patients with cancer (ICD-10 I48, C00- C97) from 1999 to 2023, stratified by sex, race, geography, and metropolitan status.

Background: Gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) is common among transgender individuals, but its impact on lipid profile and cardiovascular health is not well studied.

Objectives: The authors performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of existing literature to assess the impact of GAHT on lipid profiles and metabolic cardiovascular risk factors in transgender individuals.

Methods: Online databases including MEDLINE/PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Central registry were searched to find studies on lipid profile changes in women who are transgender, also referred to as transfeminine (TF), and men who are transgender, also referred to as transmasculine (TM) before and after GAHT.

Fuzzy hybrid models are efficient mathematical tools for managing unclear and vague data in real-world scenarios. This research explores the q-rung orthopair fuzzy soft set (q-ROFSS), which presents incomplete and ambiguous details in decision-making problems. The main intention of this study is to describe and evaluate the characteristics of the correlation coefficient (CC) and weighted correlation coefficient (WCC) for q-ROFSS.

Iron deficiency is an independent risk factor for heart failure (HF) exacerbation. We aim to study the safety and efficacy of intravenous (IV) iron therapy in patients with HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). A literature search was conducted on MEDLINE (Embase and PubMed) using a systematic search strategy by PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) until October 2022.
